Auto****y was first observed and thus termed "auto****y" in 1962. Its study has been ongoing ever since with Yoshinori Ohsumi getting a nobel prize in 2016 for his most recent discoveries of the mechanisms of auto****y. The word, itself, comes from the Greek meaning "eating of self". It's a process in which the body regenerates itself as it discards and/or repairs old and dysfunctional cells and proteins. It's not a process that happens randomly, the conditions have to be right. There is nothing you can buy to encourage auto****y. Detox drinks and pretty green powders will do little more than put a hole in your wallet. To start your body's own self-cleaning and healing process, you simply do nothing. It occurs when the body is in a fasted state for long enough. How long is long enough? The general consensus is about 12 hours but 16-20 hours is considered more optimal. It would vary from person to person. A person on a low carb diet would be more primed to hit it sooner. When we don't eat, insulin levels go down and the glucagon goes up and that stimulates the process.

The exact ways that auto****y works are just beginning to be understood. It is being looked at as a fountain of youth type thing to slow the aging process. It is a process known to improve cognitive function, enhance the immune system, have an anti-inflammatory effect and prevent damage to healthy tissue and organs while potentially fighting cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and other illnesses. In a world where medical care is all about the profit, it's nice to know the best thing you can do for your health is to simply shut your mouth, not eat for a while and let your body heal itself.

Just curious should you eat Twinkies at the end of the fasting period?

Technically speaking, as long as it’s consumed within your eating window it’s ok. But **** no, that shit is terrible. But also kinda delicious

There isnt anything more healthy for you than an organic, ketogenic diet utilizing intermittent fasting. It is the key to circumventing so many diseases, body failures, and even various retardations. It truly is amazing.

Deep fried Twinkie is supposed to be the shit if you're into that sort of thing.

I did exactly that at the start of the year, it was fine. The lack of fruit was too much though and I switched to just intermittent fasting and watching my calories. Dropped 60 pounds this year, feelin' way better.

Good job on the weight loss, I dumped 20 lbs in a month with keto.

I have neighbors that come over and the guy is maybe 80lbs overweight, has to have his hot wife help him get his shoes on when they leave. Most assuredly his gut sticks out further than his dickeydoo, prolly been a while since he's seen it.

Starting keto tomorrow.

It's definitely a challenge at first, and you're gonna feel like someone threw your brain in a blender for like a week, so best of luck. Rooting for ya

I have dabbled in that sort of thing...

All three shifts where I work get their own turkey for thanksgiving and we take half a day off or so to deep fry it and have a big meal. We also bring a bunch of other shit to deep fry. Usually just twinkies, but we have been known to deep fry breakfast burritos and Oreos. I can only do that once a year though
