Cmon man. You know darn well that conversations go on behind the scenes all the time. Sure, George isn’t having a sit down with anyone now but his people are talking to agents and other associates gauging interest.
Of course unofficial conversations or putting the feelers out type stuff happens. But I wouldn't take anything serious outside of official interviews that are a few weeks away.

I have a good friend with a family member that plays in the NFL. He was a free agent last year. His agent told him weeks before the deadline team A, B and C will offer you. That’s exactly what happened. The numbers and details get worked out during the official time period. Everyone knows who’s interested long before that though.

Why is it that a defensive minded head coach is looked down upon on this board and in general? Are people just afraid that he will not know how to hire good offensive coordinators like Lovie? Even an offensive minded head coach needs to be able to do that for the offense to be successful.

The number 1 thing that matters most for a head coach is to be able to have the leadership to train players for success. And that is challenging as players learn in different ways.

I dont want a D minded HC to work under this D minded GM under this organization that prides itself on D in an age where D shouldn't be your main focus. Especially when you've got a young and raw QB with all of the talent in the world to change the trajectory of your organization.

We'll see if Frazier gets interviewed.

Yeah, I mean if you really want to follow the Andy Reid coaching tree then of guys available it's Frazier, Pederson, Bowls or maybe Spagnuolo (I think Childress and Shurmur have retired).

Would include Eric Bieniemy, but some don't like his..... interview skills???

Funny enough, those are most of the names in circulation. Reid has build himself a little coaching factory.

At this point, I don't think there's anything to the Frasier rumors. If you follow the links of the sources thus far...it directs you to an ESPN Insider article that's a subscription.

Isn't it against league rules to be talking to candidates right now?

It is - but from what I have been reading, many people in the league see BOTH the GM and HC spots opening up, and are starting to try to get stuff out there attaching them to this job.

The term I heard was "circling the Bears like buzzards".

The Bears really are considered the #1 spot this offseason because of the QB and the ability to quickly reshape the roster.

But yeah, anything you hear between now and when the Bears finally make a move, attaching the name to the Bears, is most likely not coming from the Bears camp, but instead coming from that coach's/executive's agent...

You would think from performance that Shurmur had retired, but by title he is still the OC of Denver and likely to get fired

Frazier is “meh” hire. Nothing to get excited about. He had a losing record in MN as HC. Harbaugh would be a home run hire with his success at SF.

If the Bears can’t get Harbaugh, Roman or McDaniels would be good hires. Roman has success wherever he goes. McDaniels learned from the GOAT. Just don’t give McDaniels GM responsibilities.

I would give Frazier a 3 year deal, enough time for him to prove himself as HC while Fields gets valuable experience. If we aren't a playoff team by then or contending then we should move in a different direction. Even if Fields doesn't progress (which is the worst case scenario) under the coaching it's possible he could turn it around still under different management and coaches. If there was a time to bring on Frazier, this would be it before Fields gets into his prime, because let's be honest we aren't winning any super bowls in the next few seasons.

Would folks want Frazier as our HC if he came with the following:

Current Bills Asst. Director of College Scouting Lake Dawson as GM.

and/ or either Ken Dorsey or Marty Morninhwieg(he and Frazier coached together on 2016 Ravens) as OC.

I think at this points folks would take Hitler if he could manage a clock.

His familiarity with the meteorological phenomenon known as bear weather would be a huge plus. **looking at Chicagoland tee times for mid December 50 plus degree stretch

The cool thing to do on this board is to trash everything. Then you can complain in the future and act like you knew the best alternative when you have the advantage of hindsight.

I personally want Daboll. His stock has fallen a bit, but in the end I still think it's remarkable Josh Allen has turned into the player he is. I was very low on him coming out of college and he has steadily risen every year. We already have a stud RB for him to work with and a mobile QB.

Frazier seems like a nice alternative. And while I can get board with the hire, I would prefer an offensive minded coach to develop Justin in their own system. Even if Frazier hires the top OC in the market, one good year and that OC could be off to a new job. I'd prefer Justin have a constant offensive mind to develop him for at least the duration of his rookie contract

I wouldn't say it's the cool thing to do, but they're definitely is a segment here on the forums, we're going as far back as you can go, you can see all they ever do is rip on people and troll them.

They don't really have heavy comments on the Bears, because they don't really have an original thought in their head. They are only here to make fun of the people who actually do want to talk about the Bears.

Trust me, it's better just putting them all on ignore.

Anyone else worried that the Head Coach appears to be getting hired before the GM?

Doesn't that mean Pace is still in Chicago in some capacity?
