How is it hypocrisy to make a childish comment about boobs after speaking out against violence against women?

People are so desperate to claim hypocrisy these days. For it to be hypocrisy he would have to be guilty of the same thing he spoke against. If he was beating his wife while saying what he did about Marshall, that would be hypocrisy. This is not. He made a stupid, dumbass, offensive remark, certainly. But it's not hypocritical.

lol it's giving me a headache. Just give up man. People act like this isn't something every other male who has seen her has thought.

My god people need to let this go.

Thinking one thing and then putting it out from a position of importance are two different things....She is now going to have this needlessly hanging over her head because of a stupid tweet from a couple of idiots who have an audience. She has a job to do and now she has to overcome this just to do her job and make a living.

I understand that. I'm seeing it more in the position of an already tough work environment. That must suck.

LOL, I had a couple supervisors that used to love sliding around the counter in front of me and making sure their ass rubbed my dick. In front of customers too, but they'd make it look unintentional and ask me if I liked it later. Eventually banged one of them. Really liked the other one, but, long story there.

Was this one of the Uhaul babes?

TBH this is a likely boost for her career. I had never heard of her before, now she is getting national attention.

Not how she would have liked to get famous but I'm sure she is half thankful to the idiot.

Very good point. Sometimes this is it all takes, next thing you know boom she's on ESPN.

Perhaps not in the realm of violence against women, but in the general 'women' thing with him.

For example, he spent a lot of time railing about the 'bimbos' that used to do Shoot The Puck in the second intermissions of Hawks games and how that is sexist. He also spent a lot of time railing about the outfits worn by the Ice Girls who shovel the rink in time outs and how that is sexist.

He also went on a tirade against Hawk Harrelson when he said something to the effect of 'why don't we just put skirts on the ballplayers' in context of the contact play at the plate. Dan went on the 'every woman is offended' rant - when ironically enough, not a single woman appeared to be offended.

Dan carries the 'I'm offended FOR you' cross for women.

And yet his behavior suggests otherwise. Whether it's Megan Glaros or Kate Upton or whomever - what he suggests is anything but noble.

If he was just a dude saying 'she sucks as a reporter, but has a great rack', that's one thing. When you carry the sword of 'Civil Justice Warrior', you are gonna get shit - and be called a hypocrite - when your words and deeds suggest otherwise.

Curious if Dan will discuss this at all today, or if he even cares about the whole situation. I know a few people who know Dan and Terry personally, and everything I have heard says that Terry is just a great guy. All a radio personality for him, but off the air just a real good person and funny. Everything I know about Dan is the opposite. Very smug, pompous and a "Don't you know who I AM?!" type of guy in the public and at restaurants from my understanding lol

Great link. Dan is just getting over having put the score at odds with itself and now has associates avoiding them. Bravo!
He's becoming the Brandon Marshall of radio. Bad in the locker room and throwing his mates under the bus. How would he deal with that?

That's pretty fun.

I believe they get ratings, so he does perform 'on the field' ala Brandon Marshall.

It's all the other shit - the ancillary off the field, locker room, headaches for management, etc - that is the reason that Brandon Marshall is apparently gone. Causing too much of a distraction for upper management and co-workers for his selfish antics.

Sound familiar?

Dan has become that which he rails against the most. Very Tolkien-esque. He longs to serve the one true ring of power! Dan is Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit and Saruman the White in The Lord of the Rings!

No, they don't.

This isn't you and your bros in the bar checking out the bartender's rack. This is a professional man in his 40s who spends 5 hours plus each day carrying the Civil Warrior shield - a PUBLIC figure - effectively reducing a colleague of his to nothing but tit meat.

The whole 'females in sports media' thing is a sensitive topic. The running narrative is 'sideline eye candy' and I'm sure many try very hard to get beyond that stereotype, whether it's true or not.

If Dan said 'I think Sofia Vergara has a nice rack', people would say 'yes. yes, she does'. This is different. This is a public figure - 'grown ass man' - stating that he literally does not care about a fellow on air sports personality and her work - only that she has large breastesses.

Whether you or your bros thinks it's a big deal or not, in today's day and age, it is. Smart, mature people just don't say shit like that. Especially on Twitter. Look at the response by nearly every female sports media type of note. They are losing their shit.

Yeah, but let's be honest. I think they also embrace it.

Jen Lada looks in the mirror and knows she's a babe. She also knows that if she looked like some average housewife, people wouldn't turn in.

Look at the hundreds of women in sports - sideline reporters, analysts, hosts, etc - they are ALL babes, outside of maybe a couple (Holly Rowe, Doris Basketball chick).

Men watch sports. Men like to look at pretty girls. Hence, pretty girls will be on men's sports broadcasts.

The thing is - some women can be pretty AND know their shit about sports and be good at reporting and/or articulating thoughts. Jen Lada is one.

Don't get me wrong - Aiyana Cristal is brutal to watch. Brutal. She's so unnatural in front of the camera and awkward, it's painful. But she's not alone. Watching her after Bulls or Blackhawks guys is terrible. Just get off the screen and get me to Boyle and Konrad or Mayers. That Kip Lewis guy on Comcast is also terrible.

From what I understand, Dan and Terry are both conveniently off today. Dan apparently said he'll be in California at a wedding. A *** wedding. One that his wife's event planning company is doing. I'm not making this shit up. Was being talked about on another forum.

Funny though - Dan spends a lot of time on soapbox about the whole *** rights thing. Interesting that, at the same time, his wife's event planning company is specializing in *** weddings.

Social Justice Warrior or Opportunistic Pitchman? You be the judge!

I find it odd people recall various defenses Dan has made over the years about other peoples comments in relation to this.

All I know is I've definitely heard him say worse things about other women, be it an athlete or an anchor on air than that he likes their giant boobs. Don't truly care enough about him to recall things he really said though.

I also apparently somehow don't know or recognize this Aiyana despite watching csn plenty if thats where she works.

Objectifying is objectifying. I never said they were equal. Of course it's hypocritical. The self righteous need to actually be more righteous to remain credible. Something you're well aware of, judging from your political sensibilities.

"Self righteous" is a subjective opinion. Opposing violence against women doesn't mean you're a hypocrite if you voice admiration of someone's boobs, even if it is done in a childish and unprofessional manner.

The issue here is the definition of the word "hypocrisy", and this ain't it.
