My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Obviously it's only brokers that were buying tickets today, not any of the throng that showed up for the parade.

-.- Looks like road trips a-plenty for me this year. Talk about ridiculous. And for the way I travel, it will still be cheaper than what a broker would sell a 300 seat for, I'm sure.[/quote]

Agreed...I may even consider driving up to Minnesota for a game this year...it's about 5 hours from here.

I have no idea how I got my season opener tickets. Luckily I will be attending the game with my Uncle who has been laid off for over a year (laborer) and this will be his Birthday present, especially since he got me into hockey and paid for some of my leagues/equipment when my mom couldn't afford it.

Da Boss backed out on the account of he had his daughter that weekend and a family get together. He's actually a cool guy too so it would have been no big deal. My uncle was the next choice!

And Stu was behind Door #3! Ha! Just glad you get to go for face value and get to see something that 90% of this board has never seen, a banner raised for the Blackhawks!

can't imagine how anyone is surprised. this is the same thing that happened last year except worse. at least last year between my wife and i we got the max tickets we could (6 games x2 seats). This year between the two of us on the phone and online we got 2 seats to the sabres game, thats it.

somehow my friend got 8 $45 seats to the BJ's game on 10/23. nice little couples trip to the city that weekend, shaping up nicely.

after what i paid for those finals tickets on ticketexchange, this home opener seems like nothing, haha. sad isn't it?

sucks, as this is my last year i can make the 150 mile trip in from michigan regularly. we are expecting our first kid in february and my hockey time will take a drastic drop. just as well, i gotta get the kid on skates ASAP!

Don't worry, the NHL Network is on 24/7, I'm sure you won't be missing any thing at 3am.

I was on the phone for 30min and got nothing today. Even tried some of the 'dog' games like Columbus and those were 'sold out'. I don't think the Hawks released many tickets for today's sale. I just found it hard to believe that all the dog games were sellouts in the first 30min. My ticket rep told me not to try for Opening Night cause the Hawks were holding most if not all of the remaining tickets for promotions and sponsors. Glad I have my ST but the friends are SOL.

For me it's the only option.

It's not attractive though.

What about ordering that NHL Network online? I'm sure my computer should support it with no problem.

I didn't even bother trying today. As a matter of fact, I stopped the Bhawks text messages today because all they have ever been is "Buy tickets for this, or that" no actual news or anything relevant. I just assumed it would be a giant clusterfuck, and from a reading a few of these posts (not the whole thread) it seems like I was right. Man I'm glad to not have all that stress of trying to get tickets.

Yeah the Bhawks messages aren't what I really expected them to be. They did remind me that tickets when on sale, but usually I get Hawks news from one of my buddies before the Hawks ever send anything out.

I ended up getting some through StubHub (of course getting raped in the process). But even there, they were lising SRO for games like the Pens in Feb. and nothing else...
