I smell a rat. Shouldn't there have been about 4-5000 tickets go on sale for each game? so how does at least 150,000 sell out in minutes, and everyone i know says that couldn't get through, or when they did only sro was left.

I don't blame the brokers for this. Its the greedy lying bastards at 1901 West Madison with the big offices who claim they're losing money, but in reality are making huge profits. And just trying to make more.

I'd bet somehow the Blackhawks will be selling a lot of tickets on the secondary market this year. They know what the value is. Probably a much higher profit margin than when McD had the Cubs scalping their own tickets.

I'm an idiot.

The reason it seems that I was able to get to the first home game against Detroit was because I chose the preseason on the 25th. I didn't even look in my haze of trying to get two tickets. Oh well, at least I'll see something I guess.

What no attempt to try and get someone to "trade" you for tickets? I am so disappointed in your post. LOL.

It is going to change on the other side once the reboot happens. Less restricts, which should be nice.

If you make it out and are on my level swing by. I think I still owe you a beer.

That's on hold until December so you'll have to wait a little longer!

I could pay for a road trip to St Louis on Amtrak, get a room at the Motel 6 or even the Renaissance for the night, AND get a game ticket for the same amount. I might even get to keep some money as well.

Unfortunately that article is 2 years old and still nothing has changed.[/quote]

Save for the Ticketmaster/LiveNation merger.

Here's a fix for that. Don't buy any tickets from broker sites or Stubhub sellers that look like brokers. If a guy is selling 18 tickets in one row, he is obviously a broker. Apply the same logic to ticketsnow, goldcoasttickets, etc. Sooner or later they will end up with unsellable product and stop this practice. Or we could lobby congress...or 'blow up' Ticketdisaster's servers.

All good options

But there's still all the rich yuppies who will buy those... I would love nothing more than a mass boycott of those sites... well I have never used them anyways.

Easy to say that when you're not a season ticketholder. If you were you would know that there are times when you just can't make a game and need to sell extras you have. Stubhub and the other sites mentioned above are a very good way to do that. Plus with the price increases us STH have had it is pragmatic to sell some games at huge profits each year just to help offset the costs of the rest of our tickets.

I use the ticket exchange on the Hawks website sometimes when weather is really bad and get tickets under face value. I just hate shedding money on tickets over face value.

Tickets can't be sold on ticketexchange for less than face though. The system won't allow a STH to list for less than that. It's a built-in control to the system. So whatever you bought you paid face plus a 15% buyer's fee and a $2.95 reissue fee. That's the cheapest it gets over there.

Really? I got 2 tickets to the Stars game last year when that huge snowstorm happened for like $30 each. Not bad either... 300 level 2nd to last row right to the left of center ice.
