Where's the write-up dumbed down for people who don't watch hockey? I'd love to hear your expert opinion and for you to blow it out of proportion.

Waste of a post and not needed. Next time, just send me a PM and I'll respond personally to you.

You take a shot, I'll give it right back. Stick to the hockey and no one has to deal with the bull shit. My original post was all hockey...your reply was stupid.

If he made a trade and it happens he should be looked at harsh or Q. It doesn't change anything.

None of these options were anything impressive unless you wanted to add career rws

Agreed. Sorry, I see no reason to make a blockbuster with 4 top 50 players on the roster, and a solid d-man group. Call me a homer, but I'm looking forward to the Blackhawks replacing talent from the pipeline instead of dealing the pipeline for older players whose impact will only be seen for a couple of seasons.

Just didn't see many guys over the days that made sense for the Blackhawks to acquire. A Clowe, Jagr, Iginla, Pominville would have helped the team but would it have made sense? I'm not too sure and for the most part no...they didn't fit and didn't check the boxes that are needed.

This is the team the Blackhawks have going forward. If Sharp moves over to 2c I believe that helps the team out in a big way. Need Hossa and Sharp to get healthy and hopefully everyone is ready for a long playoff run.

Hawks would have a chance to make another deal, had they not pissed away 2nd & 3rd round picks on Johnny Opooya.

God, I hate this fucking clown to death.

Says who? How can you assume any of that? Plenty of picks for 2014 were traded around the league and the Blackhawks have picks for 2014. They could have given up prospects, roster players, other picks...there were ways to make a deal if a deal was there to make. Who knows if there was.

Oduya has helped solidify the defense...even if he isn't looking great right now (which he isn't) with his game.

teams started to adjust and rise to the hawks, the hawks did NOT try to seperate themselves. if anything its more balanced and a tougher road for the hawks.

dmelt pointed out the standings in defense of no trades yesterday...i also see the pens in the standings doing the opposite. having 4 top 50 players doesnt=depth and a spread along all d pairings and lines. if one of those guys gets hurt its over in the playoffs.

Maybe that doesn't equal depth, but depth has been one of our strengths all year...

You could probably say the same thing with many other teams in the NHL.

First off you have no idea how sharp and hossa will be. You have some bad depth on this team. besides the core the rest are pretty much ehhh with exception to the rising of saad. if you lose 1 member or the core, this team is not deep enough to win the stanley cup, add the fact that the goaltending numbers are good, dont fool yourself into thinking we have an elite tandem. not adding a 2c is really bad, and it was a pressing need. If some of you want to stick up for Bowman, that is ok with me but his track record doesnt lie. Some would say if hossa didnt get knocked out vs phx that we could have won that series (even though mike smith was hot) but fail to realize that if we added depth last year we may have been able to get passed them or had a better chance.

Bowmans track record doesnt lie folks. what has this team done since he has taken over? what players did he actually obtain that are contributing factors? frolik? finally ok on pk. montador? carcillo? brunette? mayers? morrison? Oduya? shall I go on? or is it ok that his only decent piece is our backup goalie (and he is doing well just this year)

You have inherited: toews, kane, hossa, sharp, seabrook,Keith, crawford, Bolland, ETC ETC what has he complimented these players with? pure trash. Evaluate his time here and dont make excuses for him.

Looking forward to when they're golfing early again.

So is he supposed to trade Dave Bolland for a complementary piece?

I would say Stalberg, Shaw, Kruger, and Saad are solid complementary players. I don't know how much of those players were Tallon's picks, but still they are producing for the current.

Frolik has been meh, but the rest of the supporting cast I'd probably agree with.

This is a first place team in the conference right now. I don't get the questioning really.

Saad, Leddy, Shaw, Stalberg, Kruger, Oduya, Frolik. I mean, what else is/was he supposed to do? He inherited the core and then locked several of them up long term. He had to go through a major salary purge in his first summer. With the core he inherited, there was no need to "put his stamp" on this organization. I'd say he has done a good job (SO FAR) this year of giving these "core" players guys that they can play with and win with. Also pretty important here, the Blackhawks are in a pretty good place cap wise going into the future...they will have some things to consider but a lot of the top end teams are going to go through a big purge this offseason where the Blackhawks won't have to experience that big of one.

Since then, this team has gone on a record streak and is in first place right now.

I don't get how you can say they have a lack of depth when the Blackhawks have one of the best third lines in the NHL and a pretty solid fourth line. Depth on defense? They have it when Rozsival, Brookbank, and Montador are the #6, 7, 8 guys respectively that is pretty solid.

Almost every team in the NHL can be bitten by the injury bug and it can hurt them. Any team. It isn't like it is an issue that can happen to the Blackhawks, Blackhawks alone, and that it would hurt only the Blackhawks.
