Just to add my two cents. I think this is a Pace smoke screen to get another GM to bite and grab Mariota so the Bears have a better chance of the guy the truly want falling to them at 7. I would guess he got Chip's attention at least. The Titan's GM would have to be quite football stupid to want to bring in Smokin J thinking that will help turn the franchise around... either that or quite desperate. Also I don't see Pace as the kind of guy that takes a project QB as his first pick in the draft. He seems more the type that would grab a guy he thinks can start from day one and I don't see Mariota as that guy. Also giving them J, our 7, and eating half of J's money would be a bit too rich for my blood to move up 5 spots.

I would endorse any move up for Williams.

I know we need players, but more important than numbers is some STAR power.

If they trade to get Mariota and give up more than Cutler and pick #7 than Pace should be fired..A team in dire need of a complete overhaul cannot be giving up extra picks to move up and get a guy not touted as highly as Luck or Manning coming out of college.

Well I disagree, but that aside, they aren't giving up picks in that scenario. They're offering Cutler and a 5th for the 33rd overall and a 7th. The different between the 5th and 7th (crapshoot) isn't enough to even register on the meter scale of importance when it comes to something as major as the team's starting QB.

Getting rid of the bum cutler is an absolute prerequisite for success. Nothing for the Bears is more important than getting a better QB.

Very possibly. I hope not, but it's a pretty obvious possibility, yes.

IF, and a big one, IF the bears pull this off, do you think they should get someone younger in the WR core to grow with him, if not this draft then the next one. I know Jeffery is young, but I remember the Colts drafted the TE from the same school in the 2nd round... would that even do any good to find someone that young, or should we just stick to Defense with the rest of the solid picks in this draft?

THE best thing for a young quarterback would be to put a great offensive line in front of him and to have a great running back with it. That is what they need to do.

just to stir the pot. White is working out for the titans today, and there is no way, they take him at 2.

what does that mean? You're a prude making fun of the less fortunate publicly, yep no morals at all.

You going to cry? Your statement is stupid and does not makes sense. Was there a moral questionnaire I was supposed to fill out before logging in here? Let me be the first to welcome you to the internet, where only the high moral characters gather together.

Right, but I guess the question, as it often is for me with regards to stuff people assert here, is what is your timeline for becoming a successful (read playoffs/divisional contenders in my world) team/franchise. I think it is entirely POSSIBLE(note, I didn't say DESIRABLE) to have Cutler here starting this yr while the defense gels and hopefully improves and we break in 2 new OLman and possibly a rookie WR.....and we go ~ 6-10 and get some more good quality draft picks and then make a move for a future QB in the 2016 draft/FA market and move towards success.

Others seem to think that's failure, i'm not sold on that....that seems to me to be a positive move towards becoming a contender, and it's quite possible that that's the MOST efficient move we can make this coming yr.

I don't think spazzing out and trading away future picks with an old team which has a million holes on defense in the coming yrs (3 just in the secondary right now for instance) is a better solution that that in most cases.

I would be shock if we go 8-8. So your 6-10 is more realistic. I even hope Cutler has a better year and can then be traded with just one year guarantee on his contract. I'm done with him but will root for him to play better. I hate to say this but force him to be a game manager to keep his turnovers down and don't throw it deep which is where he is at least on my thought inaccurate.

your one of those who'd go flick that person in the ear and make fun of him, as you're doing here. you have no morals, a loser with no class. i.e., bully.

oh and again, thinking is an opinion and does not imply fact. you are still wrong.

If the Bears want to move up, it better be for Williams.

Also if the Titans want Cutler they can offer their 33rd overall pick and keep their #2. #33 + 7th rndr for Cutty + 5th rndr makes far more sense.

wait what? 33rd overall? no they are offering from what i heard Cutler and #7 for pick #2...no way Mariota lasts to #33...maybe i am not understanding what your saying?

mick was replying to the above

So basically Q7D was saying if the Bears move up he would rather they take Williams, but if they are trading Cutler he would rather see Titans give up their 2nd rounder (#33) and their 7th for Cutler and the Bears 5th...in either scenario Mariotta is not drafted.

I don't care if he chooses to make fun of me, don't use pictures or gifs of handicapped people. I have a CP grandson and I will speak out to those who post pictures of the handicapped as tools. so are you too one who likes to make fun of handicapped people?
