Not what I saw on his pro day. You must have watched a different workout than I did. Yeah...he is pretty accurate when his receiver is so wide open he has time to either wait on the ball or come back to it. He is not worth a number 7 pick. Period

Again, I'm already on record for wanting the Bears to go in another direction, but you can't just make shit up about him. He's also surprisingly good under pressure.

First, in regards to why didnt this trade go down earlier if it indeed is legit, well, for starters theres no knowing for sure what Tampa is gonig to do at 1. Also both teams may have wanted a little more time to do their homework. so perhaps both teams are waiting until draft day to make the trade.

As for Mariota as a prospect, Im conflicted, on one hand Qbs without a pro style background scare the hell out of me, but on the other Mariota was at least asked to occasionally go through progressions and play from the pocket and when asked to do so displayed the ability to do just that. His pocket awareness and mechanics are actually pretty damn good. Though at times he did miss reads and had issues with deep accuracy.

When all is said and done I think threre is enough talent and potential there to take the risk, especially since we know cutler isnt the answer, and even if Mariota ended up busting at least theyll have made the commitment to move on and address the position. And if youre going to take Mariota at 7, taking him at two isnt any different if all it takes to swap picks is giving up cutler. thats a very cheap price to pay to draft the potential future at the position.

I agree with everything you said however, I think the Titans will ask for a little more than just Cutler and a 7th. I am thinking we throw in a future 1st or a 2nd round pick this year.

I think that Marshall was being traded no matter what.

Marshall was going to be moved no matter what. Pace was going to cut him if he couldn't find a trade partner. All the mouthbreathers here were bitching about giving up a 7th round pick in the trade, but Pace got a 5th in return for a guy he was going to cut anyway. He couldn't have done a better job.

That guy took a lot of time breaking that down. Pretty interesting read whether you are looking at qb's to draft or just comparing the players as a fan.

Agreed. Comprehensive as hell.

That's a great article and why some of us never had the Hundley love. Qbs are difficult to project due to systems, competition and associated players but nothing about watching him play says special. Petty's been my #3 since before the bowl games.

My head would fucking explode if we were to give a 1st or 2nd round pick in this trade scenario.

Where was it stated that Marshall was getting moved no matter what and would be cut if no trade was made? And if you say Bernstein, I'm going to puke.

If you look at what we got for him, it's rather easy to infer. This was to get anything for him while somewhat accommodating him on a destination. If we just cut him he could have been claimed before he dropped to NY. The value we received was to not cut him and secure his destination for both NY and Marshall.

So no, not Bernstein, it was John Fox who said it and Pace reiterated it.

The new regime made it abundantly clear they wanted Marshall focused on football and football alone! Marshall was too interested in continuing his TV career. This means he was not with the program and would be cut/traded or otherwise removed from the roster.

Yeah, pretty sure that was never stated.

I really think this is the Titans trying to drive up interest and force teams to come to 2 and not 3 or 4.

I agree it is weird that the Bears were practically giving him away in early March and now he has some sort of value to the Titans.

Why didn't the Titans trade for him last month?

this sums it up!

Pretty sure it was.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/po...-brandon-marshall-others-to-focus-on-football

To remain a Chicago Bear, it appears receiver Brandon Marshall needs to give up his budding broadcast career as an analyst on Showtime's "Inside the NFL," as new head coach John Fox and general manager Ryan Pace expressed Wednesday that football is where the players' focus should be.

There are other articles stating the same, learn to use google, so I will not post them all.

P.S. It is best to check your facts before posting.
