if you can get mariota AND get rid of cutler without sacrificing any more picks you would be Special person not to do it. even those who support cutler admit that you need to manage him. and i believe he can still be an effective quarterback if not asked to do to much. the problem, of course, is that you're paying him about $35 million the next two years. you shouldn't have to manage a quarterback making that kind of money.
so then it becomes: if you're going to run an offense where the quarterback is a complimentary piece, why not roll the dice on a young guy making a quarter what cutler is making? and i'm not in love with mariota as a prospect, but his upside is undeniable, and he has a pretty high floor as well. he's a relatively "safe" pick in that i don't see him being a bust. he might end up a more athletic alex smith, but i'd take alex smith at $4 mil a season over cutler at $15 any day of the week.
and if mariota is there at 7 it's an absolute no brainer. then you turn around and try to trade cutler for a 2nd rounder in a draft that is stacked with quality depth at some key positions. that's the dream scenario for the bears, in my opinion. i think one way or the other, though, mariota is going #2.

That's just a guy's opinion based completely upon the idea that it's not enough of a value for Tennessee on the draft value chart. Hate myself for even asking this, but did you actually read it, or just look at the headline and say "well, there you go" and post it without getting the gist of it first?

In hind-sight I think grandpa jc456 was actually offended at my gif because it showed someone losing their teeth and in turn made him come to grips with his reality. But needed to turn it into an issue of the handicapped because he knew getting emotional about the tooth-challenged would get no traction.
