Not to derail us back on track here but I still can't get over the 2M being the only punishment. Just thinking about NJ being originally fined 3M and lost a first and a third round pick for "cap circumvention" with the Kovalchuk deal. Just kind of blows my mind even if they did finally get that back. INTEGRITY OF THE GAME rablerablerable....
Doesn’t Wirtz control all liquor distribution to all arenas still? I think they do.

Two million dollars is half a days liquor receipts for Wirtz and chances are he’s wiped his ass clean with more paper money then that in his lifetime.

The boys club mentality is still alive and well in the NHL and if you didn’t think it did, here’s the damning proof of it.

Wernt the Yotes fined more money and had draft picks taken away because of sneaky scouting or something?

You mean to tell me underhanded scouting is more criminal then a 20 year old being raped and a cover up that lead to a child being raped?

Only in the NHL.

Look at my previous posted here about how I feel about the 2M. He won't be the one who ends up paying it.

Dcat is the teams future captain, after the interview he gave, he sounded honest and sincere something the teams needs right about now.
That goal he scored last game was straight silky. He's really learning how to use his body to his advantage; that's also the fastest I've seen Dach look. Him, Cat, Hagel -- they're the most exciting players to watch right now, for me anyway. Lanks looked really good last game too.

But to avoid derailing the thread -- I'm waiting for the Q announcement. At this point, I would be absolutely shocked if he's allowed back in the league.

He needs to explain how keeping Aldrich with the team was less of a distraction with all of the rumors than at the very least putting him on personal leave and investigate more.

Beach says management knew everything about the assault but they claim to have only known about propositions, explicit texts, threatening careers, and drinking with underage players which they all seemed to agree was fireable.

Did they think it was good enough to do something like meet with Aldrich and tell him to cut video, go home, and dont contact our players?

If that's what they did he may have listened about contacting players, but he continued to hang out with young interns.

Saw the meeting was 2 hours, and Panthers execs attended with Quennville.

As I mentioned in other places: I think in terms of being a legal, direct firing offense:

It would have to be proven that Q had the power to really do something about it--like HE had the ability to put Aldrich on "administrative leave" (or something like that) unilaterally, or somehow ensure that Aldrich and Beach could have no future contact.

If Q couldn't via the constraints of his job (and I haven't seen or heard anything that Q could have unilaterally put Aldrich on leave, and nothing that said he couldn't, either), then I could see him staying on with a possible strong censure.

If he had the ability, he needs to go because he was in direct violation of the Blackhawks policy, like McD, McIsaac, Sthan, and likely Chevy. Gary might not have had the power, but if he was still a practicing psychologist he should have ever license and certificate pulled for victim-blaming--which even back then was considered unethical in the field.

Morally stuff Q said, along with a ton of others, is repugnant and in a perfect world, I would hope people would step down, apologize, and/or make some kind of gesture not strong-armed. As bad as what Kane said about Bowman being a "great guy", he did at least try to extend a gesture which I give him some points for--assuming it's not token.

Personally, based on feelings? Q & Chevy should be gone. Everyone listed in the report in that meeting should be barred form the NHL for a period in a good number of years, minimum.

If Q is let back in without at least addressing things publicly and answering some hard questions. I'll be pissed.

Q could have went to HR or the police like anyone else.

There are still so many unanswered questions from the report. Ill put together the ones I have later in a post.

Yes, because Kyle Beach was a piece of shit before he was raped who talked shit to his own team mates over, say, they’re skin color, wasn’t going to have shit used against him after the fact.

So, with your moral gate keeping, Milan Lucic should have never said or done a bad thing to him when Beach called him a hunchback?

Or josh Bailey should have never stuck up for himself when Beach tormented him over his height?

Or Aliu shouldn’t have beaten his ass when Beach called him a stupid gorilla?

Is that what your saying?

Which of those things, do those players have any control over? Physical deformities, height, or skin color? Kind of a bad topic to ridicule somebody over, huh?

(mic dropped)
Suspended many times for attempting to and hurting other players mostly small players, for shooting the puck AT fans in the stands and for fighting a teammate at a team dinner at Rockford, along with the other exploits you mentioned. This big bully of a kid had nothing but disdain for his coaches and obviously no fear. His career wasn't ruined either, his star had already fallen well before the incident,he was never gonna make the bigs because he never made the commitment.
I saw him drafted and I followed his development, trouble followed Kyle Beach at every stop and lo and behold, who's out drinkin' and whorin' around with the predator and he was that when he gets to Chicago?

Why the victim shaming you jagoff you ask? Because everybody in that room was aware of all of these things about Beach and they entered to his believability factor.

Aldrege more than likely knew that Beach wouldn't be believed due to his past behavior and the booze and three-way filled night before he pounced only added more doubt.

Now that Q,Kane and Toews can't win us any more cups, they're a bunch of jagoffs, well if anybody's waitin' for an apology for winnin' those cups....they can keep waitin'. Keep waitin' for more cups too.....a LONG time!

McD told his staff to concentrate on hockey opps....we'll handle this and that's what they did.

'Hey coach, sorry for being a complete asshole at every stop so far and by the way,me and one of your coaches got all fucked up,picked up a whore and did a three-way and oh.....he raped me afterward. Believable?

Kyle Beach will make a lot more money from a massive settlement than he ever was gonna see from hockey. More money for more drunken there-ways with whores?

Irrelevant

But they didn't handle it, they egregiously violated their own internal policy, got their Cup, and swept it under the rug.

This is why you call the police...get unbiased eyes on the situation...you think Kyle Beach is the only guy to drink and have sex in the NHL? You can't be this naive.
Kyle Beach will make a lot more money from a massive settlement than he ever was gonna see from hockey.
This is just a garbage cheap shot. I live with someone who was sexually assaulted, and he and we have been living with the aftermath for 17 years and counting now. There isn't an amount of money that could compensate for the pain and damage that was done to him and all of us.

You and I have agreed on a lot, and I respect and like you, but your take on this is homer meatball tone deaf garbage.

This is the problem in this situation and a lot of others in this world.....
