This is all pretty similar to Joe Paterno and everyone at Penn State. "We didnt know anything for sure and reported everything we heard to our superiors. Its their job to decide if the authorities should be involved"

The big thing I have not been able to find is if the Hawks gave Aldrich a good review/recommendation for future employment.

Well. I mean, you're not going to find the reviews themselves. But he got several positions afterward at places that are going to definitively check references.

I know this might not be right because technically the authorities should be alerted immediately, but...
If the Blackhawks brass removed Aldrich from the team immediately in 2010, and did an 'internal investigation' would it have made a difference? It doesn't seem like the player wanted to go to authorities. He could have done that himself. They should have fired Aldrich either way, and told other employers to stay away.

I think this aproach would have been less than a blip on the cup run because it wouldn't be such public knowledge, and more importantly many other lives would have been saved from Aldrich.

Also, I agree with the Universities checking references, but he also has a lot of family in hockey that could have been his references if the Hawks were not. I doubt being an unpaid coach at a high school checked. That's why I wish the Blackhawks positive references were proven true or false

I just saw the news. Pretty sad that this was covered up. Glad Stanbo is out, and I hope he never has a thing to do in hockey again. I’m sure good OL JC knows the end is near for him as well.

Wonder if we see former Ranges guy Gorton in the FO

Q and Chevyldayoff to meet with Bettman now. This ain't over. I think they both get canned. If Bowman wasn't safe, I can't imagine these guys will be.
Both should be canned, no question. This is a very ugly situation I and mentioned it countless times that this black cloud over the organization needed to come forward, Faany and Rocky did the most notable thing, all those guys mentioned deserved what they had and have coming for them. Very disturbing.

Still, a kids life was ruined because of the complete stupidity of the Hawks.

Let’s not forget that.

**** Blowman, Q- who looks like a huge piece of shit over all this, Chevy, and the NHL for fining the Hawks pocket change.

They need to trade Kane and Toews out of here even if it’s for pennies on the dollar

And did an internal investigation.... yes. Yes it would have made a different to the victims he was accused of abusing after being allowed to leave his job with severance and continue his behavior elsewhere. He wasn't even fired.

Yeah. I think some people are overlooking that this isn't just a failure of the organization to protect it's own and have processes in place to care for their people and keep them safe. This is a failure of the organization to stop a predator from continuing it's behavior in society. And before you go all crazy over my blowing this out of proportion, just imagine if it was your kid he assaulted after having been paid to go away by the Hawks instead of investigated.

I'm not disagreeing here, but honestly in order for Rocky to really make any kind of drastic impact here he needed to be able to do a top to bottom sweep like this and if their isn't anyone left to fire it wouldn't have had the same magnitude of him being serious.

I do however question.... He knew this was coming and a likely outcome. Why did he promote Stan when he Grinch "stepped down". Grinch didn't do it out of the blue, and you likely knew then what you knew now, so you could have blown this open but were still holding out hope that it could blow over somehow. It's just very odd that he could have appointed an interim President instead of promoting a guy you know was going to be also be in the cross hairs. I would be curious to know if Stan's cooperation was part of the promotion. And then when all came out it was still impossible to keep him. That would be one explanation for the glowing statement of his character by Rocky.

Danny did praise Bowman, but why, was he trying not to taint the Bowman legacy? The one thing that stinks is Rocky and company even after the 2 million dollar fine and cleaning house look like the good guys in all of this. 11 years and ownership knew nothing of this, what a farce. Pressure was mounting and the Wirtz family needed to save face.

It's always been something that was in the back of my mind but always for other franchises....not the ones I follow. But the cold hard facts is that these people don't care about much about anything but making money. I always tried to talk myself into it not being true but the Hawks are no different......neither are the Bears, Bulls, Cubs....it's all about the money and they will do whatever they need to do to protect their interests. They don't care about fans, they don't even care about the people they hire. People's lives be damned....if they can sweep shit under the rug by waving fists full of money, they will do it.

They do it because they know that like everything else, this will pass if the Hawks start winning games again....it will soon be a distant memory.

Unthinkable that it would work that way......but it does.
