The most important thing to glean from this year is the absolute top coaching candidate of the last two seasons came to the Bears because of Williams and his immense talent.

Also, all the guys on the list deserve the recognition they’re receiving.

If the Bears had converted a few more of the late game situations Williams put them into position to win, he’d be on the list too.

No doubt, this will be motivational fuel for him going forward.

It was a good situation to start, but both lines and the coaching imploded. It happens.

Moving on…

Walter didn't have a great rookie year, either
In totality you're right....but 2nd half of his rookie year was a glimpse of things to come. And that finale in NO was a great game. That 54-yard TD run is on many of his highlight reels. And nothing against Mike Thomas, but his 'career' was short lived.

That happens to a lot of ROY RBs. They just don't have the durability to keep going at the same pace.

I wonder how this list would look if Poles wasn't a dumb ass and would have fired Eberflus before the season and hired Ben Johnson. I bet Caleb Williams would be on that list.
How do we know Johnson didn't tell Poles..."I want one more year at the toilet to try and win a SB, if we don't, I'll come next year." Maybe that's why Flus was kept? The speed of the BJ signing took everybody by surprise. The signing itself somewhat, but the speed once the toliet was eliminated seemed prearranged. Maybe my man Ryan Poles was, as some say, playing chess while others were not even playing checkers, but Tiddlywinks. Of course we'll never know. We can only speculate.

absolutely.....that's part of what makes Payton's career so astounding....durability. He missed 1 game in a 13 year career and was able to play that game but the coaches wanted to protect their rookie. Payton always held a grudge about that.

Moving on......absolutely....dwelling in the past doesn't help anything.....don't live in the past, learn from the past.....

I worry about Jayden Daniels the way I did about Derrick Rose. I hope I'm wrong.

And again, another awesome, positive thread by Everytime23 to crush the spirit and hope ascending in Halas and these forums. He just oozes in negativity like a slime troll.

That's a good list. Dudes are legit. Hopefully Williams breaks through this season with Ben Johnson (y)

What else can you say, really?
It has two impressive rookie QBs on it that made the playoffs.

I would put Caleb over Bowers but not with 3 QBs.

Last time Bears had generational talent at any position was Devin Hester.

I remember when the A-Train won OROY!! Boy did that foreshadow all of the success the Bears enjoyed the next decade! Wooo!

Bears retained The Floser for the 2024 season. The Floser fires all the coaches on offense. The Floser now is in charge of assembling a new offensive coaching staff with the prospective candidates knowing if they take the job they will probably be fired after one season. Knowing all of this, 1/2 of the dumb ass CCS members thought Caleb was going to be ROY. Coaching is everything in the NFL. With BJ now leading the staff and with the staff he is looking to assemble I will take Caleb in 2025 over any of the ROY finalist listed.

That's a bold statement.

Here's the biggest area where u and I differ...if Daniels was on the Bears this last year, he would have, in my opinion, won more games than Williams did heading this offense. Even with the coaching, line, everything.

And Williams would have won less games, in my opinion, than Daniels if Caleb was with Washington this last year.

I'd pretty much bet anything on that.

Doesn't mean Daniels is going to be the better QB 3 years from now but it sure as shit means he's the better QB now.

And not by a little.

Pretty sure NONE of the Manning family won OROY, so seems Caleb is off to a good start.
