Breaking news: Chicago Jaguars

And how many people would consider 30 miles a game-breaker to watch a game live?

Just because you don't want the Bears to move, don't make molehills into mountains.
It's just bullshit anyway. Check Google. 27min from Manhattan to Metlife and Manhattan is not where most fans travel from anyway.

I guarantee you that over 2/3rds of Bears ticket holders are from the burbs.

I've noticed that only people from the burbs complain about people from the burbs saying that they're from chicago

So the @JordanSigler of the Jaguars says it's stupid with very little evidence. Yes, Khan has put a lot of money into the stadium but who knows what he will receive from Lightfoot when he is holding her political career for ransom?

As him saying multiple times that the team is not going to move. How many times have front offices or owners lied before, saying one thing and then doing the complete opposite?

Haugh only said that the chances of the Jags moving to Chicago has increased a lot the past 4 weeks. Well, that is obvious. If, going back 4 weeks, the Bears had a zero chance of leaving Chicago, then it would raise the opportunity of another team moving into Chicago to maybe 1% which is a huge increase from zero. Haugh never said that the chance of the Jaguars moving to Chicago was a coin flip call.

As for the Jaguars, this was some years ago, but I seem to recall that the Jaguars have a problem in getting fans to go to the games. It is a Florida fan base which means that most people have other things to do and are fair weather fans at best. Moving to Chicago would add a rabid fan base, some of which would cry into their beers as they move their allegiance to the new team, giving them the actual chance of watching games live inside Soldiers Field. They could even force the city to agree to a new stadium to be built by the city in 7 to 10 years from their move or Khan could build it himself.

Now I am not saying that this is a done deal, far from it, but has a much better chance of it had of happening 4 months ago.

Besides, what kind of lazy reporter talks about all of those reasons online for it not to happen? A real reporter would add some substance into the report, even if it is somewhat weak. Alfie just seems to be lazy.

I agree with you on the Jags fan base etc. I just thought this "breaking news" was happening now.

Why do people from the suburbs do this? How hard is it to just say "Chicago suburbs" instead of outright lying?
Because it’s easier to lead with I’m from Chicago. People recognize and understand that more than saying the suburbs of Chicago or Illinois. I always tell people “I’m from Chicago, but lived outside in the suburbs”. You’d be surprised how many people get confused when saying “Im from Illinois”

If the Jags want to come to Chicago, the Bear could easily offer them a better deal that would benefit both. Even room for a practice facility field on site or nearby. Still lots of land in west Hoffman Estates.

I wasn't around for the Chicago Cardinals. But I did attend a few Chicago Blitz games (USFL).
I was hoping they'd make it to a Championship back in the day.

Well lets hope that water was the only liquid being consumed. ? ?
Don't worry. It was probably during prohibition

It use to be a bummer, when I'd find out a person, entity etc. wasn't from the correct or said location.
So....What I started doing when ppl say they're from a major city is ask "proper" behind whatever said city

I was talking to a woman recently. She said, she was from Philly. I was gonna ask her some things about Philly.
But I stopped and said, Philly proper. She's like.....no Cherry Hill ( I'm familiar C.H.). Of course, she knew little about Philly.

The thing in Florida is there are so many transplants. Tons of Bears, Steelers, Packers, Giants, Patriots, etc fans here. Prior to Brady, half the stadium would be Bears fans at Bucs games when we played there. Bucs fans only show up when they are doing well. I think the Dolphins fans are a little more consistent, but we've taken over Hard Rock as well.
Its like that with the Dolphins as well. Not as bad as the Jags and Bucs but its still not really homefield advantage. It's like that with every single South Florida sports team, especially when they're playing poorly.
Don't you live in Montana or somewhere around there?
I've never seen someone so concerned about harmless things that are happening in a place he doesn't live.

And I've never seen so many people so concerned with the revenue streams of millionaires they've never met.

nobody is "concerned" with this, they are just supplying you with a reason why the Bears will be moving to Arlington Heights. Wouldn't this also be the reason why your Soldier Field Jaguars would move from Jacksonville?

Its been explained to you. Im sorry if you went on vacation and decided to return with a willfully ignorant schtick on CCS. Too bad. You sometimes came across intelligent in this section.

Well I also asked why anyone has any faith in George McCaskey and Ted Phillips to finally do something right in their tenures running the Bears. Especially when that one thing is building a two billion dollar stadium on the eve of the worst economic downtown the country has faced in the last fifteen years, all with the (notoriously bold and crooked) city government of seventh richest city in the world actively working against them.

Didn't really get addressed at all.

These projects always seem unaffected during economic turmoil. It’s usually normal everyday people that take it up their bums during these times not the people with extreme wealth

Which is why the Chicago Spire is still just a big hole in the ground, right?
