And hear is your third sign. Brett, you may be a troll from time to time but I will talk baseball with you and Dews all day every day over these two people.

What a command of the king's English this guy has, eh? How blessed we must be if this guy "talks" to us:)

They couldn't find anyone else who wanted it is my guess. Not sure what sign you're talking about. A little elaboration on your part would be great. Take your time, I know sharing abstract thoughts is a bit of a challenge for you.[emoji3]

He is talking in tongues is my guess. He must have graduated recently from the "English as a 4th language" class.

I'm still relatively new to this site and don't know who are "mods" and who aren't nor what these guys do, but if Silence is a poster boy for them then they maybe should should re-examine the appointment of such:)

Do you read? I said that I hate the shit and the people who used it. And what the **** are you talking about "supporting a scum bag"? I said who I wished that the Sox had traded for. They didn't so life goes on. Lets see, you were probably in the stands getting plastered and shouting the praises of SamME SOSO huh, You watched as he dumped buckets of water over his fat roided head as he was breaking records for home-runs. SOSO without roids would have lasted maybe 6 or 7 years in the majors as a 15-20 skinny home-run guy. Yeah......."Bez ball ben vely gud to me".

Does it hurt your feelings that Sosa made more money in a year then you can make in 3 lifetimes? I know the guy was a scrub without roids. I mean, I know the roids made him hit the baseball. I know having one of the greatest seasons in history was all because of the roids. It's quite clear you have no idea how steroids work. I suggest you stop now because your own board doesnt back your non sense. Oh, and you better not route for melky this season. He is a scumbag like all the others or something.

So you do not think that McGwire used roids? Come-on. He never approached the power numbers that he had as a rookie until he started cheating.

This is from Wikipedia:

Steroid use

In a 1998 article by Associated Press writer Steve Wilstein, McGwire confessed to taking androstenedione,[23] an over-the-counter muscle enhancement product that had already been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, the NFL, and the IOC. At the time, however, use of the substance was not prohibited by Major League Baseball and it was not federally classified as an anabolic steroid in the United States until 2004.[24]

Jose Canseco released a book, Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big, in 2005. In it, he wrote positively about steroids and made various claims—among them, that McGwire had used performance enhancing drugs since the 1980s and that Canseco had personally injected him with them.

In 2005, McGwire and Canseco were among 11 baseball players and executives subpoenaed to testify at a congressional hearing on steroids. During his testimony on March 17, 2005, McGwire declined to answer questions under oath when he appeared before the House Government Reform Committee. In a tearful opening statement, McGwire said:

Asking me or any other player to answer questions about who took steroids in front of television cameras will not solve the problem. If a player answers 'No,' he simply will not be believed; if he answers 'Yes,' he risks public scorn and endless government investigations ... My lawyers have advised me that I cannot answer these questions without jeopardizing my friends, my family, and myself. I will say, however, that it remains a fact in this country that a man, any man, should be regarded as innocent unless proven guilty.[25]

On January 11, 2010, McGwire admitted to using steroids on and off for a decade and said, "I wish I had never touched steroids. It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era."[26] He admitted using them in the 1989/90 offseason and then after he was injured in 1993. He admitted using them on occasion throughout the 1990s, including during the 1998 season. McGwire said that he used steroids to recover from injuries.[27]

McGwire's decision to admit using steroids was prompted by his decision to become hitting coach of the St. Louis Cardinals. According to McGwire, he took steroids for health reasons rather than to improve performance; however, a drug dealer who claimed to have provided steroids to McGwire asserted that his use was to improve his size and strength, rather than to just maintain his health.[28]

There are other things that I could relate relative to McGwire being a scum bag as well as Sosa. I coached with a guy who was a back-up catcher for the Cubs, named Cruz for a year along with another guy who played in the Cubs organization in their minor league system. Cruz told me how Sosa bought drugs in the D.R. and injected there a lot. One time he had $10K stolen from his hotel room which was intended to buy the crap.

The notion that McGwire was concerned only about his health and rehabbing himself is just not true, Brett. He is a scum bag.
He admitted he used it for injuries. His homerun ratio basically remained constant thru his career. Sorry you are still wrong here

Wrong about what? McGwire said the same thing everybody says when they get caught. Canseco spilled the beans on Mac long ago, this is old news and not worth debating.

Who I am sorry for are the hundreds of players who didn't cheat and got screwed by getting pushed away from baseball by the ones who did. And if you seriously think that SamME SOSO collected all of those records legitimately, you really are nuts.

I know how roids work coming from a medical family. It doesn't make you make contact with the ball. If you think sosa would be the superstar he was without roids you are mistaken. Barry Bonds is the one that was a superstar before the roids not sosa. he would have been an average player and maybe a better defender with more speed if he didn't juice. lets be real when it comes to sosa.

I'm not saying he was getting in, but his career's not over yet. He led the league in batting avg when he got caught. A few more seasons of that along with a championship or two and you never know what could have happened. Either way, he lost out on that, millions $$ in earnings, and tarnished his reputation. McGwire remained silent when asked about it in front of a congressional hearing, so he doesn't get any sympathy from me.

I think that your opinion is reasonable. Cabrera broke the rules and was suspended for it. And he admitted taking them. McGwire and company broke the rules and it cost them nothing other than their reputation. It cost Cabrera money. McGwire set AL records and roids cost him nothing. McGwire only told the truth when he wanted to get back into baseball with the complicit LaRussa, his buddy from Oakland and St. Louis. I wonder who was in the A's and Cardinals system that missed a chance at making a major league career with either organization because he was overtly juicing.

I've known guys who were juicing. You really can tell if you know what to look for. A lot of it is in their eyes, glassy. The other is the amount that they sweat. They also can pretty much change their personalities and become pretty crazy. This is illustrated by guys like Roger Clemons. Another guy who comes to mind is that crazy relief pitcher for the Braves. Can't recall his name but basically he was nuts on the mound(lefthander).

There are a shit load of martial arts guys who are on them. They try and hide where they inject themselves as in between the toes, along the shin. Sometimes they get caught, though because sometimes it affects the skin and it starts becoming scaly. It really is pretty sad and some of them off themselves eventually. Just look at professional wrestling for that.

Where did I say it didnt enhance his performance?? Sosa was a 20 plus homers from his age 24 season on. Roids didnt make him take all those walks. His AVG. came up. He had his first 30/30 season at 24. He had one of the greatest 4 year stretch in baseball history against guys that juiced. You are correct Bonds was a superstar before the roids but Sammy was never just an average player.

This is hilarious. Can't you find somewhere else to advance your bullshit? I know, the Cubbies board. There you may find more takers for your lame stuff.
