Please point to the part that explodes, or looks like it should explode..

Sorry,
I don't expect English teachers to be expert on what is or isn't an actual bomb.

For Christ sakes, the kids own engineering teacher told the kid he might not want to be carrying the thing around school because of the way it looks.

He wasn't told not to carry it around with him.
Actually, he was.

He didn't show it to anyone
So...he showed it to someone directly going against what the teacher said.

Also you're missing the forest from the trees here...

WHY WOULD HE BE ADVISED AGAINST SHOWING ANY OTHER TEACHERS?!!?

Because it looks like.........a................... ____________

That is clearly not a bomb, any bomb expert could have told them that
Cool. Is the English teacher a bomb expert?

They may have done same with a kid named Matt Campbell. It just wouldn't have made any news.

you don't need to be a bomb expert to look at his project and know it isn't going to explode.

also, if the teacher really thought it was a bomb, why didn't they stop class?

the whole thing is bullshit perpetrated by idiots

Kudos to the school district for having a high school engineering program. I wish the engineering teacher would have asked him to leave his clock in his classroom until school was over, problem avoided. Kid has a bright future.

At least the story has a pretty good ending. Kid has gotten tons of support from the interwebs to the President & astronauts.

is it just me or does the support he has gotten from the notables seem odd and out of character... piss of the natives, black, mexicans.. asian etc communities.. yeahh okay, no biggie.. just dont piss of the irabs

I'll remember this when someone assumes something isn't a bomb and it kills people and you're back in here bitching.

I do expect an English teacher to be able to analyze and efficiently use some judgement oh human interaction and behavior in any situation of this or other natures.

So he shouldn't have confiscated a contraption that went off in his class?

Hopefully, next time, they'll actually go through some type of safety protocol instead of holding on to it and calling the police at their leisure.

Sorry,
I don't expect English teachers to be expert on what is or isn't an actual bomb.

I guess the English teacher was expert enough to know the bomb wasn't going to go off during class after it was confiscated so the teacher just kept on teaching and didn't turn it in until after the period was over.

That or the English teacher has super powers that can disable a bomb while teaching class and said teacher hasn't notified the media of this power.
