Don't fall into the same trap of pitting Fields and Bagent against each other, Mr. PiB. It seems like you're skirting close by minimizing Bagent's contributions. He did win 2 games. So I choose to give him credit for what he accomplished and be happy for him, and for the Bears, who might have found a second- or third-string backup to tinker with.
I do agree with the sentiment, though; anyone who thinks Bagent can start consistently in the NFL is probably still a bit giddy about the nice story The Kid turned into. Bagent's last two starts especially exposed his shortcomings. Knowing what I've come to know about Bagent's mindset, he'll use what he learned in those starts to try to mitigate his shortcomings. And someday, he may play the hero coming in towards the end of the season and winning a few games, maybe even a playoff game. Nothing wrong with rooting for that. But he's probably not a starter, fellas . . .
