Carcillo got what he deserved.

Carcillo took an obvious angle of attack. If he wasn't going to bury Gilbert, he would of played his angle better. His intentions were not to make that big of a dirty hit, but I don't see Gilbert in the wrong at all.

I still contend if he shoulder to shouldered him, or even rode him into the boards either wouldn't be hurt.

What injury does Gilbert have? And still no word on what damage exactly was done to Carbomb's knee?

I was hoping the "past history" stuff was going to be eliminated.

Not me. If the player doesn't learn from previous suspensions, he deserves a longer one. His wife will get get message through to him if Shanny doesn't.

9 previous suspensions and fines for shitferbrained play......

I would have given him a game for each one.

Klemmer, I would agree with you if these suspensions were for on ice incidents, but only one was, the one this year, which wasn't really worth a suspension at all.

Assuming those nine were for on ice incidents which only one was. The one on Pikanen which really was not a penalty, but an awkward play by Pikinen. Carcillo was suspended because his name was Carcillo for that one.

Bourque throws a blatent elbow, non hockey play, a week after he's suspended for boarding Seabrook he gets 5 games. I'm not sure the department of player safety actually knows what they are doing here or in any of these cases.

Gilberts ankle because he was off balance to start with.

Carcillo's knee is shot. He's done either way.

So...does Carcillo serve his NHL suspension concurrently with his "Karma suspension" or does he have to be healed and ready to play hockey before 7 games begins? I should know this but I drink too much...grin.

I have no problem with the suspension by the way...as long as we have this instigator penalty there is no other thing to stop players from playing with zero respect.

I'm pretty sure he'll be serving it with his next team. He has to be healthy and able to play I believe before the suspension kicks in.

I have no problem with the suspension either. Although I do think there have been far worse hits, and NON hockey plays this year.

I think if a suspension is concurrent with an injury, it shouldn't be. A suspension should only be served (a) when a player is medically cleared to play and (

the player is cap-eligible (i.e. not slated on waivers or in the A/EC/CHL). if that's the rule than good, but really, Carbomb's suspension should kick in *after* he's cleared, not now. Yahoo made it sound like he's eligible to play for the Buffalo tilt. You know he won't be medically ready.

As for the length...about what I figured it would be.

Q says his suspension starts with tonights game.

Right, because Scooter didn't, wouldn't, or wasn't 'forced' to put him on the IR yet. So they are doing him a favor knowing he can't play anyways.

Yea I agree. Only difference is he's not getting paid where as if he was on the IR he'd be paid until the time he could serve the suspension. Smart move to get it over INCASE he can come back and play this season.

He did this so he would not have to play in Philly. What he didn't think is that the suspension would be more then a couple games nor would he get hurt.

I'd like Carcillo to stay on the Hawks, less risk of hurting his own players with bonehead plays. And I, stupidly perhaps, think he could improve and just become a hard-nosed pest instead of a moron.
