Tell Bolland to start playing like a second line center and not a third line checker.

Agree tell Bowman to find him a lw and a rw that can do something with the puck. Even Toews couldnt make Frolik and Bickell better.

Kruger hasn't been lighting up the scoreboard as the second line center when he played there either. Was crashing and banging and getting in the dirty areas which was awsome. Bolland can do the same thing and probably add a little bit more hands. Kane isn't lighting it up as the second line center either anymore and he is better off on the rw side.

I don't see the issue trying Bolland out there for a game or two.

3rd line has been the worse forward line all season. Why not mix it up and see what happens. Q mixes every other line up why not the one that never produces?

Or we will do what Q will do. Which is leave everything the way it is and keep playing Brunette with toews (which is useless) use a rw as a center and keep an underachieving 3rd line together trying to find chemistry 3 months into the season. Meh not that i am overly concerned..Hawks are doing something right to have the record they do.

Come playoff time we need Bolland to be our shut-down centre, pitching in with the odd goal here and there (a shorty, PP, evenstrength, whatever).

Who says the 2nd line can't be a shutdown line? Does the shutdown line not go against other teams top line every night which gets 18+ min per game anyway? Hossa and Bolland together with Sharp surely can be up to that task more-so than Bickell and Frolik with Bolland.

I heard a commercial today for The Carbomb Radio show this Friday. They said it would be music from the 60's and a lot of comments from Carcillo.

I wonder how far in advance the show is taped (pre or post bad hit/injury)?

Okay, We have the lines something like Stalberg/Toews/Kane and Sharp/Bolland/Hossa...

...

...

...

...

Then what?

Sure, Brunette/Mayers/Tryout Rookie Du jure is not necessarily bad for the energy line and could soak up some minutes, but Bickell/Frolik/lower tier center is incredibly weak for checking/shutdown/secondary scoring.

On one hand, it may kickstart a lot by loading the top-2 lines...on the other hand, it could be putting all of our eggs in one basket and we're completely shutdown. It might not be bad to try out against a lower-tier team that is not too known for defense.

I say bring up a full line of Rockfordians, and trade whoever does the best and whatever else you need to in order to get someone to play with Toews and Kane. Or better yet, Hossa and Bolland, and put sharp back with Toews and Kane... and Better yet, a Center to play with Hossa, Bolland back manning the third, AND figuring out the other wing on that line.

I think the hardest part about all the line shuffling is that I honestly have a hard time remembering who I like best with which players anymore. Like I'm pretty sure the STK line is the greatest sliced break around. And I know Kane WAS decent with hossa, I think Bollie is, but there is also a win that I used to love Bollie with, I think Frolik? And I can't even tell you my favorite 4th line combo, but it has Mayers on it. Boooo

And that is exactly what he has been told his job is. The third lines job is not to score at least one goal every other game. It is an added bonus when that happens. As that line has been for a few decades, they are designed to be the checking line.

Maybe Q and Bolly know that and the rest of us don't anymore because of their success the last few years with other more offensively minded past Hawks playing on the wings of the 3rd line.

However with those offensive minded wings they were still fantastic defensively. Being able to roll 3 legit scoring lines is deadly. Hell during our cup run it wasn't like you could even get a break from our 4th line, they were a threat offensively. Not a major threat but you couldn't go lax on them.

My money is on Car-bomb being out for most, if not the rest of the season.

Of course. But until we can find a depth centerman with Kruger out I think you gotta give Bolland more ice time and help out that second line. Can you really say you are enjoying Kane at center still?

Not saying throw Bolland in as the Hawks 2nd line center for the rest of the season. But something right now has to give. Last thing this club needed was to lose a centerman even if that center was Kruger (who I had no issues playing on that second line). Until Kruger comes back I say lets give Bolly a chance. Might surprise some people. He isn't going to forget his roll as a 3rd line checking center when he gets back there.

That was a disgusting push. It was a pathetic display of gamesmanship. It was exactly what most folks were afraid of when news came down the Hawks signed him. There is no room for that on the Blackhawks or in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, CHL, KHL, you name it. Dirty, I believe so, though I will let anyone argue that, but dangerous, reckless, and unneeded in the sport.

I recall when Ovie did pretty much the same thing to Soupy, folks were calling for his head, and were pissed that he got only 3 games. I am glad to see that same outrage exists even for our own player.

If you remember correctly, I was the only one who didn't think Ovechkin should have gotten suspended for that hit. These hits happen all the time. Stupid? Yes. Suspendible? these days, yes. Is it worse than a lot of the things I've seen this season though? no. Carcillo will be gone no matter what with the knee injury. The NHL will be fucked if they don't count injury time as suspended time since Bertuzzi's suspension counted during the fucking lockout.

regular player - 3 games

Carcillo - 10 games

I see everyone bitching about the lines again and the center depth.

Hossa-Toews-Stalberg

Kane-Pirri-Sharp

Hayes-Bolland-Frolik

Problem?

Yes Pirri isn't second line nhl center material yet. Q must think so also seeing he still plays Kane there.

teams do not win cups nor do they go far in playoffs without bonified #2 centers. I guess Kane can do that for us but I personaly prefer him on rw. Sharp can play center but he is the only real #1 lw we have on the team so he can't be moved now.

3 for boarding, 3 for cross checking and a extra for Stu defending him.
