Aside from the goal, which was from too far out not to be a choke by the goalie, Oduya has been well better than I anticipated.

He skates the puck out of the zone like a budget Campbell instead of just chucking it deep, he will hit when it's called for, he rarely just plain gacks an assignment, and he's solid in front of our netminder.

I think we gave up Lalonde (can't recall but I know it was a Rockford spud) and I thought it was just a worthless bum for bum trade.

Turns out I was wrong. He may fall apart tomorrow but aside from a few miscues early when he didn't know the players or the system, he's been a solid pickup and I was WRONG.

If we'd just gotten a center not named Morrison I'd be feeling pretty salty heading into the playoffs.

We did get a solid center... his name is Patrick Kane.

Supposedly so was Crapoli last year. How'd that work out?

Sorry, let another team over pay him in the summer.

They can do alot better than him.

Do you know how much he will want? I say if its not too much sign him. He has done a good job thus far. I know im stealing this from others but he has been exactly a poor man's Soup. The team was missing that type of presence and someone who could get the power play kick started with a nice pass or skating the puck in deep. I like what i have seen so far.

What's overpaying him in your book Joe?

Hawks need another TWD in Ryan Suter because Duncs & Seabs are doing nothing.

Suter will NOT be on this team end of story. If we where even to sign him then we would have crappy depth players. If you are expecting Suter to be our big move then you really have some issues.

Time to discuss why Duncan Keith's offensive game has gone south.

Well, technically you can see and hold garbage- it is a tangible thing ... I don't know that the Hawks' powerplay at this moment, actually rates physical being.

So after suggesting the same thing at HB and getting ripped apart by people who don't have a vendetta or anything against you, just people talking hockey for the most part, do you realize that Suter isn't going to happen?

The Blackhawks need complimentary pieces on the blueline. With what went on in free agency last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Suter get 7+mil on the open market.

Duncan Keith has turned himself into probably one of the most overrated d-man in the NHL.

The coming UFA market for defencemen is -well, maybe I should talk about what it isn't -deep.

But I will say that I tend to agree with you about Keith, Joe.

Keith had an entire summer off & still looks like shit offensively.

Norris season looks like a complete fluke now.

I dont agree with alot of stuff Capt Serious spouts off about, but the duncan keith being overrated/over paid might be spot on.

in the cup run Keith was off the charts in point shares. Literally.

09/10 OPS: 6.3 DPS: 6.2
10/11 OPS: 3.1 DPS: 4.1
11/12 OPS: 2.2 DPS: 3.8

That is just a huge huge drop off. yikes!

would it hurt for Duncs to hit the net once in awhile?

never seen a guy miss the net as often as he does.

Bowman noted Kane’s great hockey sense, going as far as comparing Kane to Pavel Datsyuk. “You think of guys like [Pavel] Datsyuk, who is a great player – he’s 33, not 23. At 23, he wasn’t doing what Patrick is doing,” said Bowman.

Bowman also owned his superstar’s limits, saying “[Kane's] not going to win the Selke.”

But part of Bowman’s philosophy in moving Kane to the middle, according to Custance, is the lack of a legitimate top-two center becoming available any time soon. ”We could go sign one of these [free agents]. Are they better than Patrick Kane? I don’t think so.” said Bowman.

Kane isn't even close to being on Dats level. :lmao:
