Jordan's hatred for Krause started when he was attempting to come back ahead of schedule from a broken foot and Jerry didn't want that because he wanted to make sure MJ didn't suffer a setback and he wanted a lottery pick. Jordan to this day claims Krause said that he was the Bulls' property.

this is where it started from my understanding

Krause wanted a lotto pick and didn't want Jordan to come back...of course other things accelerated it but i think this was the first crack between them

I'm guessing Krause wanted a shot at Daughertry then. Because from what I have read, he had a major hard on for Brad Sellers and the Bulls picked 9th in that draft (Today that would be the lottery). He was all in for a big man that year.

Krause's after the 87 draft when he got both Grant and Pippen were kind of meh.

Did have some good trades though. Most notably Perdue for Rodman.

I like how GarPax has done with developing late first rounders, 2nd rounders, and even rookie FA's. Guys like Noc, Duhon, Taj, and now Jimmy Butler.

Here's a couple of questions.

How much NBA did you watch as a whole when the Bulls were super bad from 99-04?

When the Bulls got Gordon, Deng, Duhon, and Noc in 04 going into the 04-05 season did you feel comfortable that they would go into the playoffs that year? Even when they were 0-9 and/or 1-10?

The Perdue for Rodman trade was only completed because MJ & Phill went to JR and told him they could keep Rodman in line. Krause was not high on bringing him in.

And let's be honest here, the Spurs were giving him away so it's not like Krause made this amazing trade to nab the best rebounder of alll time. Rodman was one late night party away from being out of the league at that point.

Krause's best achievements were trading for Pippen and drafting Kukoc. He didn't even want to draft Horace Grant. He wanted Joe Wolf until MJ went to JR & had him change Krause's mind after Krause had drafted Sellers (whom MJ loathed) the year before.

Krause drafted a PF almost every year he was GM during the championship seasons. It's like he wasn't even trying to get solid role players. You can get talent late in the draft. Just look at what GarPax have done in their time here.

I looked at it and in 87 we could have drafted guys like Kemp, Vlade, Tim Hardaway, or Mookie.

I believe in 92 we drafted somebody over PJ Brown. In 95 I think we drafted Jason Caffey just 1 pick before Michael Finley. Also Eddy Curry over Jason Richardson.

For me, I started watching upon Jordan's return in 1995. I was 7 years old at the time... So I "watched" the second 3 peat, by that I mean I kinda watched while being a kid and doing kid things during the games often times. I often would play basketball in my basement on one of those little kid hoops as well. Anyways...I "watched" the bad Bulls from 99-04..I can't say I remember many games that I did not attend (went to one ever year) during this time frame. Once we got Gordon and traded for Deng, I thought this team would make the playoffs. That terrible 0-9 start though really made me shake my head with here we go again.. But then we turned it around. I went to a game in December that year when Gordon had another one of those famous 4th quarters he was so good at that year.

Why draft Michael Finley when you have Jordan and 2 other solid wing players already? Yeah yeah, the future, but we honestly didn't know how long the Jordan relationship was going to last at that point.

Eddy Curry was a player Krause was deathly in love with.

Yeah Gordon was among the leaders in 4th quarter scoring that year and he was a rookie. I thought they could still make the playoffs at 1-10 but it would take a Herculean effort to do so and they ended up going 47-35 which was 3rd best in the East but they ended up getting the 4th seed because the seeding was messed up that year.

I remember a game in which we faced the Cavs and it went into OT and the Bulls went on a 10-0 run right from the start and the cavs just couldn't get anything going after that.

Also traded Brand for Tyson Chandler in that same draft. I guess he tried to create his own version of the Twin Towers.

That and I've read somewhere after that draft that Krause really really really wanted Eddy Curry and that the Clippers were going to take him at #2, so Krause dangled Elton at them for the #2 and they took it, drafted Tyson (so Krause could draft Curry) and then made the trade later in the evening.

I remember being utterly shocked at the time. My family was on vacation at my uncles house and I watched the lottery rounds, saw us get Curry (who had been hyped up in the media) was happy, went for a swim, and played some video games, towards the end of the draft I turned it back on and the guys in the TNT studio were talking about how the Chicago trade was a huge surprise and I just said "wait, what?"

Yeah, top 3 seeds all went to division winners. Boston went 45-37 that year. Though I'm not sure we would have been much better off playing the battle tested (though missing Artest) Indiana Pacers, who did beat Boston in the first round than the Wizards that year.

Ha the Tyson Chandler/Eddy Curry twin towers experiment. So much hype for so little results. Curry did have a few decent years, but was never really the dominant force he should've been. Perhaps if he didn't get so fat...lol. Chandler ended up being a darn good player in his own right, just not in a Bulls uniform.

I remember that we played the Pacers in the last game of the season we rarely played our star players and we still nearly beat them.

I think Curry was being hyped as the next Shaq why Chandler was being hyped as the next Garnett.

In Curry's best season with the Bulls.. 04-05... he was dominate the 1st quarter and early 4th quarter and was fairly useless the rest of the game because he was "gassed". He was also a terrible rebounder..Skiles famous answer to "what can Eddy Curry do to become a better rebounder" was "jump." Best quote ever. lol.
