Obviously, losing Hill isn't ideal. But the idea that they're in "win now" mode is not accurate. Mahomes is locked up for a decade, and the defense is pretty young, especially the linebacker corp and secondary. They've got plenty of time. They've got to manage the cap and put the best team out there they can, and overpaying a guy nearing 30 doesn't accomplish that. I don't want to lose him, but it's not the devastating blow some might make it out to be. No need to be in cap hell like the rest of the AFC West is about to be for the rest of the 2020s.
