Yeah that would suck for the NFC north (beside Min). I think that would be pretty stupid of Vegas to make that trade. Giving up that much for an unproven QB coming off a season ending injury. The new HC would absolutely have to love him.
It’s risky; Minnesota would have to agree to the trade first before the HC is hired.

Worst part of this is not losing Johnson, it’s that they will give Minnesota a high 1st and future picks for McCarthy. That’s the worst part.
Risky. We’re not talking about some proven QB. McCarthy has taken zero NFL snaps.

I didn’t even like him that much as a prospect. But who knows.

If he goes to LV, Johnson may also look to trade back or take BPA this year, and focus on QB in next years draft.

They could just plan on tanking to get Archie Manning in 2026, which would be better than the QB’s in this class.

I don't understand why Minnesota would give up on McCarthy already? I don't see Sam Darnold as the long term answer at QB for them.
It’s a dumb Madden-esque type trade idea. Delusional

Or if Minn wants to roll with McCarthey and let Darnold walk (doubtful), Johnson could work with that if he could get Darnold to go to LV.

Darnold in KOC's system has something of a Love in LaFleur system kind of feel. He's just too prone to getting sped up without great players and coaching around him.

Tomlin’s a has been. Sorry you can’t pick up on that.
If Tomlin hit the market, he would be gone in a day. The guy has been doing it with smoke and mirrors for a while. That Oline was full of rookies and unproven guys. 1 real WR and he is a guy that shows up only when he wants to (Pickens) and is pretty much a cancer in the lockerroom. I think they will deal him this off-season. The drama he constantly brings takes away whatever good he adds — it’s like micro-managing a toddler. Very few coaches could have managed a guy like Pick. Once Pick moves on you will finally see the monumental job Mike T was doing with him. Najee Harris is just a guy. He had a resurrected QB from the scrap heap. Lastly, that defense was large overrated other than TJ and Heyward — any time you are starting Beanie Bishop and guys like that, that area is an open wound ready to get picked on.

I agree that the Mike T needs a fresh start though. Management/Ownership is being cheap and is no longer giving him top tier talent.

I agree that the Mike T needs a fresh start though. Coaches can get a rut just like players can sometimes. Moreover, ownership/management gets stale and comfortable as well — sees constant winning seasons and profitable years in the black and they no longer pay up to bring in top tier guys. History is full of great coaches who moved to new environments and then went on to win Super Bowls. Fans can be dumb and fickle… but the Steelers know what they have — they won’t let him go.
Don’t care. Thanks.

That’s fine my guy - all good. Anyhow, I shortened what I wrote. I know people have short attention spans plus fans can be (some/not all) dumb and reactionary — only thinking in the moment/engaging in a lot of “group think” as well.

But yeah, a change would be good for Mike T — he needs a fresh start plus Ownership is no longer paying to bring in any real talent for him.

I am afraid George Pickens might end up like Antonio Brown once he gets from under Mike T. Not with respect to criminal stuff but essentially washing himself out of the league because of his attitude.

The leadership/mentorship of Mike T covers a multitude of problems.
