If Tomlin hit the market, he would be gone in a day. The guy has been doing it with smoke and mirrors for a while. That Oline was full of rookies and unproven guys. 1 real WR and he is a guy that shows up only when he wants to (Pickens) and is pretty much a cancer in the lockerroom. I think they will deal him this off-season. The drama he constantly brings takes away whatever good he adds — it’s like micro-managing a toddler. Very few coaches could have managed a guy like Pick. Once Pick moves on you will finally see the monumental job Mike T was doing with him. Najee Harris is just a guy. He had a resurrected QB from the scrap heap. Lastly, that defense was large overrated other than TJ and Heyward — any time you are starting Beanie Bishop and guys like that, that area is an open wound ready to get picked on.
I agree that the Mike T needs a fresh start though. Coaches can get a rut just like players can sometimes. Moreover, ownership/management gets stale and comfortable as well — sees constant winning seasons and profitable years in the black and they no longer pay up to bring in top tier guys. History is full of great coaches who moved to new environments and then went on to win Super Bowls. Fans can be dumb and fickle… but the Steelers know what they have — they won’t let him go.
