If he watched the games he would know they dominated both games. Flus took BJ to school, 3 times in a row.

A certain QB who is lined up to be a FA gave their team fits in those games.

Since Ben Johnson took over as the offensive coordinator in 2022, the Lions are 15 - 3 in the division and have averaged 29 PPG. Why would Johnson be concerned about coaching in this division where he's had so much success? His easiest road to success is staying in a division he knows so well.
because then he would be playing against a team who is 15-3 in the division and averaging 29ppg. His system that is very heavy play action works great with Goff because Goff is great at play action and has a great deep ball.. 2 things that CW does not have as a strength, (at least not yet) So thats something im sure he is considering, can he fix CW so he can be successful in his system or does he have to scrap his system and figure out what will work for CW.

I personally would be happy with any of brady, monken or ben johnson...even okay settling for mccarthy. so to me not a big deal if he goes elsewhere.

I know certain posters will act like chicken little if ben johnson chooses the jags or raiders.
I would say the Bears know exactly which HC they want...............Johnson. Unfortunately, Brears cannot have an in-person interview with him until the lions are out of the playoffs. As for the Raiders, the only thing they can offer is a huge payday. Talent wise the Bears have more to offer. Also, things that have been leaked to the media and fans.

Warren/Poles. A big splash for a HC..............No bigger splash than the hottest HC candidate out there, Johnson. Warren has also said money won't be an issue. Poles has publicly stated in the past he would like Johnson in the building.

Willliams has said more than once he would like a young offensive minded HC who could help him grow his game. Johnson has also said he likes Williams game.

Question is can the Bears land the big fish? Last year the Commanders said a lot of the same things and Johnson ended up staying in Detroit.

To answer your question, the first thing a great HC/OC should do is find out exactly what plays his young QB likes and what plays work for that QB. You start with what CW does best then add to the offense. Even Goff is not the same QB he was three years ago when he started with Johnson.

At that time, they hadn't drafted Daniels yet. Johnson wants to have a good QB. I think he might have taken the Washington job if it were open now after the year Daniels had, but obviously that isn't happening.

The Bears already have Williams. They have a ton of pieces on offense that can easily play in Ben's offense on a one to one basis:

Caleb - Goff
25 Swift - 23 Swift (Or Gibbs if you will)
DJ Moore - St Brown
Kmet - La Porta
Odunze - Williams

They just need to rebuild the line and they are off to the races.

I wonder how these candidates are doing in their mock presser?

They're bringing in a new GM and have preached patience in their rebuild with Brady at the helm.

Poles needs a big year next year and has prioritized skill positions over the lines. They need to hit on 4-5 players this off-season to make this roster a legit contender and given Poles batting average thus far - I wouldn't count on it.

Johnson would need to win in year 1 with this setup and given our division - that shit's not ideal in the slightest. Go with Brady + a new GM and you'll have time.
Yea, but I don't care what kind of patience anyone preaches. No one cares. McCaskey preached patience and everyone panicked by week 2 that Caleb sucked. There's a good chunk of people here who are ready to jump ship and think he was a mistake. Besides him, the whole media was complaining that Flus needed to be fired by week 8? He was a dead man walking.

We all can be aware of reasons to be patient, but a lot of people by nature can't be patient. People read something online and just believe it and give up on the patience. This includes players. They hear enough people saying the organization or coaches suck and it starts to eat away at them, even subconsciously, until they switch sides and give up. And patience by that franchise is a joke. They've had 12 HC in 20 years. That's like a murderer telling me it's unlawful to j-walk.

I forgot tom brady is a genius executive/owner now. No one has a reason for the raiders outside "omg tom brady". Thats basically the worst situation out of all these roster wise.
Former great players always make great owners...

I still think McCarthy is a better fit for the Raiders than the Bears.

Oh you are one of those, I see now.

Dan Campbell was happy he got out of the division.

I'm not saying this is what they'll do by any means but people are deluding themselves when they say Johnson saw Caleb up close and personal and NEEDED to come here. Fields was more impressive over more games (and less impressive in 2022 in Detroit).

I am going to go with the position that the strong interest in Mc Carthy is a ruse to get Johnson to not overreach in his ask to the Bears because they have other options. Meanwhile, Johson is the target

We can play this game all day! The team that went 15 - 3 in the division will be losing their Offensive and potentially their Defensive Coordinator, as well as some additional coaches. Ben has been changing his offense every year to take advantage of his personnel; I'm sure he would do that wherever he goes. Are you saying that he wouldn't have to change his system to accommodate Aidan O'Connell?

Yep, that's the game.

Ben to Chicago is the play.

Bears using McCarthy for leverage on their side, and BJs camp is using interest in Vegas for their side.

Which means both are serious when it comes to BJ to Chicago.
