This to me is a good sign for getting Dennis Allen. Hoke is a VERY good DB coach. If we are parting ways with him, it means we have someone who is very experienced and has his own guys.

I suffered thru first take waiting for Johnson, he stated again he will have a very experienced staff. We shall see.

Pete Carroll to the Raiders is now a done deal.

I like Pete Carroll and wouldn't have hated him as the Bears hire, but isn't he more the guy you hire to get the most out of your team that already has really good pieces? Seems like a bad fit for the Raiders.

I don't really see 73-year-old Pete Carroll as a long-term/from-the-bottom program-builder, which is what he'll have to be in Vegas.

I agree. But Pete is a good get for them to rebuild that program. They need a steady hand and he will probably designate an heir apparent to take over.

It's good for long-term consistency.

I think it’s more of a culture turnaround. I don’t expect him to win much, especially in that division, but he’s not a dumpster fire like McDaniels, Pierce, Gruden, and all the other idiots before them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they signed Geno Smith as the bridge QB. They could have done much, much worse. But how many candidates really wanted to go to LV? No QB and not much talent all over the roster. Some nice pieces but not much else.

A soon-to-be 74 year old hired at the beginning of a major rebuild without a quarterback is certainly a choice. Carroll must have really wanted a job.

My thoughts, exactly. The Raiders isn't a good job, at all. Currently they don't have a legit QB and are not is position to get one. They play in a division with the Chiefs, Broncos and Chargers. Pete is going to take a lot of L's.

Jacksonville fans really think they could have had Ben Johnson. It’s nice to have the guy other teams can’t stop thinking about.
