Just go to Nvans house instead and swim in his pool. Be careful, though... Nvans neighborhood has a lot of wild Bears.
His pool(like many other Floridian pools) is probably surrounded by a glass case of emotion.

Some of the bugs down there could be cooked for dinner they are so GD big.

I would like the OP to note that it has been over 12 hours and I still have not come into his thread trolling with questions like:

1.) Why do you live in Orlando?

2.) Is there a large barbwire fence keeping you in?

3.) Does Mickey Mouse pay you a stipend to live there like the oil companies do in Alaska?

4.) Do you feel your soul withering away in the Florida Sun?

5.) If you could live anywhere else on the planet...why are you not there already?

Good thing for you OP...I chose to just leave this thread alone instead.

I realize you're trolling, but I'm gonna address this anyway.

1) There are definitely parts of town I wouldn't want to live in, especially on the south end near the attractions. But I'm in the northern burbs and it's pretty great. Here are some good things about living in Central FL, in no particular order:
  • No state tax, and very reasonable property taxes.
  • Proximity to the beach. I can get there in about 30 mins from my house.
  • Proximity to world-class attractions. Over 75 million people visit Orlando every year from all over the world, and I can visit that shit whenever I want to. Takes me about 45 mins to get down there. Going to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay this weekend. Having annual passes is pretty nice.
  • Great food scene. Most people don't think of Orlando as a food city, which is mostly because they think Lake Buena Vista / Kissimmee = Orlando. In that area it's a bunch of shitty chains in shopping plazas for miles and miles.
  • Natural beauty. From Canaveral National Seashore, to the many springs throughout the area, there are some amazing places to see. Swimming in the springs is one of my favorite summer activities, and something many tourists miss. There are several close to Orlando that are good, but the best ones are up in Ocala NF are better IMO.
  • The fishing is world-class - tons of great freshwater, inshore salt and offshore. Inshore salt is my favorite.
  • Cool little quaint small downtown areas with great restaurants, breweries, etc. Places like Winter Park, Sanford, Deland, Winter Garden, etc.
  • Weather. This time of year is fucking hot, but it's not like IL doesn't get hot / humid as **** too. It just lasts a lot longer here. That's what water parks, the beach and the springs are for. I'll gladly take it for the winters we have, which are generally amazing.
  • If you like space shit, it's pretty nice to be able to watch launches all the time.
  • I'm probably forgetting stuff, so I'll probably edit this later.
2) I wish there was one keeping people out. One of the negatives is how many people are moving here. Way too much growth too fast.

3)I wish.

4) See above.

5) See above.

Going to be in Orlando this winter. My kids are begging me so we are gonna go. I hear Universal is huge. Is it worth it to see Universal if we are already doing the massive Disney tour?
How long are you gonna be here? And are you doing all the Disney Parks - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (my favorite btw). If it's a week or less I'd say to stick to just Disney. There is so much shit just there. You could probably spend a whole week just doing Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

I still don't know why you don't believe me. I'll have to try and get a pic of one this winter (that's when they usually come out). Literally every year they get into people's trash in my neighborhood.

I've never visited Florida, nothing there appeals to me. Lower taxes does sound appealing considering IL is at the beginning of an all out deluge of taxes from the new regime.

It's certainly not for everyone.

We would only be staying a week. I just looked up Universal and it is massive.

Yeah. I'd definitely stick with Disney. Just that will wear your ass out in a week. I'm not sure if you've looked into places to stay yet or not, but if you're planning on staying on property I'd give the Hilton Bonnett Creek a look. It's cheaper than the Disney owned options, and nicer than most IMO. They have a great pool area with a lazy river, a decent pool side bar, the lobby bar is nice too with an outside seating area where you can see the fireworks most nights, and they have free shuttles to the parks. It's super close to Disney Springs, which has a bunch of good restaurants. Note that I haven't stayed there in a few years, so some of this might have changed. But it was my go to choice when I was a Disney AP, and we would often stay down there for a several days and hit all the parks.

I wasn't really trying to bash it, other than the obvious attractions just don't really know much about it. When I have vacation time I love being in the mountains.

I've been to pretty much every attraction there is here multiple times, and beyond that I have loads of local experience about things that are off the beaten path. So if you're planning on coming here on vacation, feel free to fire away and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Best place to wait in line for an Oxy script?

1. I've seen lots of alligators, never a crocodile.
2. Sometimes. But it usually doesn't last long. I think this past winter we dropped below 40 maybe 3-4 times. But 40 here feels waaay colder than it does up there for some reason. Avg winter days are usually 70s during the day, 50s at night. Sometimes warmer, sometimes colder.
3. Bears yes, mountain lions no. Although they are definitely around.
4. Yep
5. Yep. In fact my local beach is the "shark attack capital of the world". Except that's mostly stupid because it's almost always surfers at the inlet getting nipped on their hands and feet. And you see alligators sometimes in the springs, but they stay away from the swimming areas because lots of people, and the water is cold.

Nah, I didn't take it that way. I realize that if you're not into beaches and hate the heat, it would be a terrible place to live.

1. Are you not afraid when swimming in an area that has lots of sharks?
2. You ever seen an alligator swimming in someone's pool?
3. Biggest fish you ever caught?
4. Do you hunt?

1. No. It doesn't bother me. As long as you aren't stupid it is a pretty small chance you get bit. Stay out of the water at dusk / dawn, if you see lots of birds diving for fish don't go out too far, etc.
2. Nope
3. Bull red, probably mid 30 inches. Didn't have a ruler with me that day, he may have been pushing 40. Too big to keep. I do want to do some shark fishing though. That'd be fun.
4. Nope

1. You got bull sharks in fresh water?
2. Have you ever been to Maine?
3. Ever see any pythons?
4. Are alligators a problem at all or no?
