sctually 5, Arnold, Reeder and Campbell, Joseph and Branch, but your point stands
Well Campbell being on the field is a net negative for Detroit so it’s like a backup being out there.

Washington had 5 turnovers.
And 2 of them were his own interceptions.

He had a great comeback no doubt. But let's face it. If Smith doesn't drop that easy wide open 3rd down catch, everyone is talking about Daniels throwing a game ending interception when all they needed was a FG to win.

I feel like at this point, they kind of have to hire Ben Johnson. Get 3-4 new starters on the oline, hire Ben Johnson, and hope that the defense is good enough for a while. Draft some dline, too.
problem is, Johnson won't be doing the drafting, that will be Poles or whatever lackey the bears hire as GM

Almost receptions or interceptions, CCS excuses at their finest for decades now

Justin Fields isn't coming back sir. Time to move on.

Nope I try to stay level headed rather than freak out at everything. Bears have been losing for most of my lifetime. Crying every time things don't break right for them is a bit silly at this point. You guys should be used to it by now.
Heel turn coming soon

league wide he's getting thumbs up, but on CCS he's a negative
lol “league wide”. Buffalo said they wanted to isolate Detroit’s LBers in coverage because they knew that they couldn’t cover. Buffalo’s TE’s and RB’s had 250+ yds receiving. Good luck leaving him in coverage!

Great players make opposing teams pay for not taking advantage of miscues.

I’m in the same boat as you. They absolutely need to go offensive minded for HC. They can’t risk bringing in a defensive guy only to hope that guy can find a savior OC.

Enough of the fucking excuses you guys are pathetic.

One guy gets it done vs better teams. The other shits his pants.

a 20 year old throwback. You sure got him!
Not only that but the game is in the superbowl which means Rex had a winning record in the regular season. I’m sure @Les Grossman prefers his QBs have four wins though as long bc as they keep some random streak alive

QB W-L records don’t matter now. Nor does a team’s PPG stat.

I think Caleb is purposely playing super safe in a way to sort of manipulate his overall numbers, but the team is actually suffering because of it. He’s not throwing any interceptions because most tight throws he’s not even attempting to make. Or he purposely puts it an an area where nobody is getting to it. QB’s will sometimes put a ball in an area where their guy has like a 10% chance to make a spectacular play and the defender has like a 1% chance. Either his guy gets or or in all likelihood nobody does. He’s not even doing that though. He’s playing so safe even his guy doesn’t have a shot at it. But I think it’s by design. He’s got it in his head that he can just do that and keep his turnovers down, throw in some meaningless TD’s and voila you have respectable numbers. While in all actuality it results in no big plays and unnecessary sacks. It’s not conducive to winning football. He needs to start firing the ball in tight windows and take the negative that comes with it. The good will outweigh the bad. It’s also just a way to grow and learn. He’s playing like a game manager who doesn’t want to make any mistakes. But it’s not maximizing his potential and in the end it stunts his growth. But hey, rookie record for least amount of interceptions or whatever.

It even annoyed me during the game. Vilma or whoever it was on the broadcast asked Caleb what his main focus was and he said “not turning the ball over.” That’s such a weird answer for a QB of a 4-10 team to say in that spot. First off the clear answer is “winning games” and look where not turning the ball over and playing the way you have has gotten you. You’re 4-10. He clearly only cares about his numbers and doesn’t realize or care that he’s not really helping matters with his refusal to throw into tight windows. It’s like an NBA guy who scores 24 a game but does nothing else and doesn’t contribute to winning basketball and the team is 22-60. Empty numbers.

I‘m not saying the downfall is on him. He is down the list if we’re playing the blame game. I don’t think he’s helping though. He also gets a huge break because he is a rookie QB on a dumpster fire team and him playing more aggressive won’t turn this team around. They’d still suck. They would be better than what they are and he’d be growing as a player though.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
not the self-proclaimed top 5 QB in the league!
Honestly, I was ready to put him that high... so I'm probably guilty of it myself. He's definitely had a considerably worst season than I expected even though I did consider a dip for the second year slump and also due to a tougher SOS.

Nope as Caleb is unlikely to choke in the 4th like Fields was prone to do.
True, he just does it for three Qts before then

I noticed, I also noticed advanced metrics or other negative stats that impact games like sacks no longer count. It’s really strange
