The same thing you are plugging your Sous Vide into to make "30 minute" 14 hour ribs.

um, did you know that you can literally boil water and let it cool to the proper temperature and hold that temp in a cooler?

Did you ever even think of that before coming at me?????

DID YOU?

You have never brewed beer huh?
When you have to maintain a temp, some wild shit can happen

I haven't brewed beer. From what I understand you heat it then you let it sit at room temp to ferment. It isn't like you maintain water temp at 135-145 degrees for 14 hours without the help of electricity or gas.

I have however fermented hot sauce, and I know how to make Kimchi as well. All fermented at room temp.

Things I will do

Cut down a forest, get us moonshine. Also provide security; nobody has yet to find a Bigfoot.

lol no pellet smokers in the end times, but I can still make thirty minute ribs...
Despite your shit talking, this is where my primitive wood and coals from an open fire come into play. Hell, I can smoke on an old school Weber kettle if needed. I will tend to the fire and drink beer while the rest of you are doing whatever it is you bring to the table.

I've upgraded to the Weber Smokey Mountain, which I adore...but can totally get some quality smoking done on the kettle if I had too.

Speaking of which, I think I'll smoke some ribs this weekend since FL will also be on #lockdown (finally)

I've put off buying smoker for years because I want to build one, and the kettle gets it done how I like, tending and deckbeering as a part of the equation

You guys seem to be infatuated with all sorts of meat smoking technology that may not exist as we embark on thee end of times.
Can you please focus on a sure-fire ways to smoke apocalyptic meats without involving tribal warfare on routines past?

Look, there is no doubt that we can smoke meats. But I am having serious doubts about the hierarchy of it all.

Will there be a leader?

I'm not interested in Anarchy.

I am thinking our leader must be someone who can hear all thoughts but regard them in a way as to make this whole thing work.

I'm thinking
@nvanprooyen
@Scoot26
@botfly10
@Grimson
@Ares
@remydat

What skills can you provide?

I have been stumping on this one all day long and all I can think of is how my entire life has been built up for pretty much the polar opposite of a post apocalyptic lifestyle. I was raised in Chicago and it's suburbs by a couple of hippies and later an old lady. So things like hunting, fishing or any kind of woodsman type shit was just not a reality for me. I have spent the bulk of the last two decades working for television broadcasting networks amassing the kind of skills that will mean literally nothing the moment electricity ceases to be a thing.

I know where to get cheap groceries and what blocks to stay off of unless escorted or invited. That is the extent of my "survival skills".

Think really hard dude.

There has to be a thing you are good at in a post apocalyptic world. Do you sew? Do you cook? Can you gather firewood?

Look, imagine a scenario where your day to day job skills cease to exist and you have to survive! How you gonna do that brother?

If nothing else, let this be a time where Jamais Vu learns a new skill!

I'd vote for either of those two as well. @Ares is obviously a boss. @remydat is extremely logical, intelligent and can vortex the shit out of basically anyone.

Voting for myself would be bad form, although I do think I'm one of the most cool, calm and collected members of our tribe (obvious bias). Maybe a cabinet position? Minister of Smoked Meats?
