I actually watched part of the Stars game last night and Burish looked great. I wouldn't mind acquiring him. Rather have Burish out there than Shaw/Hayes at the current time. Stars also have Burish working in front of the net on the PP and it paid off for them last night.

sure, but he isnt what this team needs right now. adding Burish doesnt put you in that much better of a place to win the cup. the defense and the center is the major 2 holes. if they got him, great....but it doesnt do anything really for this team. just my opinion

Anyone who wants burish is a fucking idiot dope moron homer

if hawkwriter felt the opposite you would be agreeing with him.

its the 4th line! we are looking to win the cup. whats more important right now? defense, 2nd line center, goalie or the 4th line? think

I don't think anyone is saying to get Burish in place of a 2nd line center or a top 4 Dman...I think people are just recognizing that Burish would help this team and could possibly be had at a cost that wouldn't hurt the Blackhawks presently.

The Hawks 4th line was one of the best in the league when the Cup was won. Not a coincidence in my eyes. Burish is the type of player that has grown enough where he could probably even play some 3rd line if needed...much like Eager did during the Blackhawks run.

Right now, who's a better all-around player? That includes what he does on and off the ice.

Can't take Crosby because of his injuries.

And before you go apeshit, I'd like to point out that I haven't said Toews is the best. I just want to know who's better.

good question.

Off the ice what do we actually really know about any player. Leadership can be really seen on the ice and sometimes in the interview format.

Lol that's funny you say that. We have our disagreements, and we provide reasoning as to why and we respect each others opinions. You on the other hand are just a ******

I have been much better on the users since you have been gone. hell I even apologized to hawkwriter in a PM. when there is actual hockey talk that isnt always about fire and passion and board battles im in. since you have been gone it has been a minimum. im leaving hawkwriter alone with the name calling since we do go way back to the psd days and actually had good debates back than....thats what i want. but when you and i mean you specifically spew the garbage that you do i will give you those "moron" like responses.

I do not like the homers and meatballs and that is well known. As I sit back and look at the users here I know who is and who isnt. Hawkwriter after further review really isnt a homer when I think about all the talk I have had with him in the last 4 years, he is more of just a half full guy which I can respect. I will debate him on things, but I will respect him from now on and limit my rants. you on the other hand have nothing more to add to a debate other than board battles.

C'mon he provides goals and assist that's all that counts

do you watch stamkos play? yeah he does provide goals and assists which is the MAJOR part of the sport.

ASSETS: Skates very well, has awesome hand/eye coordination and can score in a variety of ways. His one-timer when parked high in the slot is deadly. Displays solid playmaking and two-way upside. Plays with enough grit and aggression to keep opponents honest.

FLAWS: Needs more polish in the face-off circle, as well as continue to up his defensive-zone coverage. He's a shooter first and foremost, but could still improve his passing skills a tad. Also needs to limit his scoring slumps. -hockeynews-

Right because I look at all aspects of the game. Like I have said before the NHL is becoming a very two way game if you can't play both ends your not much help

The fact that Stamkos has 39 goals, 66 points and is only a +5 speaks volumes

Toews has only 28 goals, 54 points, is on a team that just went on a 9 game losing streak where they got murdered in goal differential and is still a +16

I stated two way game. Although Stamkos doesn't have much of a defensive team and a goaltending I'll throw that in his defense

drama much?

if you have the ability to read, and im sure you do, go back and it all started with the kane talk. the point is.....NO one in sports is untradeable no matter what. whether he the player is highly skilled, is a captain, does charity work in the area, has fire and passion, won us a championship etc etc etc....thats the whole point. so when someone states that he is untouchable, it is far from the truth in all of sports with all premier athletes. if you dont believe that than you are naive. now go play.

Other than your obnoxious condescending tone, there's something you're just missing. You claim that I and others making a similar argument are "hiding behind the cap." But that's exactly the point. In this era with the salary cap in sports, certain players are UNTOUCHABLE because you're never going to get an equal return for them when restricted by the salary cap. 25 years ago, if you throw a slew of players, prospects, and cash at a team for the greatest player ever (who the owner had decided to shop because he'd soured on having him in town, and don't forget the widely-held belief that they went to LA to help his wife's acting career) then, yeah, it could happen. But that was 25 years ago. It's not the same today. Not by a longshot.

Andrew Shaw, I felt, was a poor man's Adam Burish.

This seems like a very Chicago-thing to do. Team needs a player? Let's bring someone back from the glory years to do that. Remember when people wanted the Hawks to sign JR back in '09 to be the 4th line center?
