Yeah so I doubt he accepts the assignment to Iowa now, and I doubt anyone trades for him. They probably waive him hoping they will be ont he hook for the salary.

As a note for today's game, the bench is awfully short today since DeWitt was DFA'd and Baker is also probably still sick. That means the bench has 3 people including a backup catcher.

I was just surprised that they would be willing to cut bait on any player this early in the season. You definitely called it. Now hopefully they call up Cardenas and at least give him 50% of the starts at 2B. Valbuena getting called up to provide a backup for Castro that isn't starting on the field would be a possibility.

I think he is LH. Valbuena would make sense for Cubs to bring up also but with Barney not hitting anything in site to me bringing up the good hitter in Cardenas is smarter. Then late in games u put in Barney
