It's poorly written but what I gathered from that article is that it's not a formal interview but they'll chat over the phone. The formal interviews are done, and now every candidate gets to play a bit of phone tag with the bosses.

Mike Maddux could be close to pulling out of the managerial race because of family concerns. Then it'ss be down to Sveum (prolly going to Boston) Phillies bench coach and Sandy Alomar Jr.

That would mean Sandy Alomar Jr. will be the next Cubs manager prolly.

Pretty much. Said that he's offered the job, all indications are that the Sox are moving on, he got a second interview so it's all pointed towards him coming in

It's not official yet, but the Cubs have only had a 2nd interview with one candidate and that was Sveum. Ricketts has met with the new Cubs manager and is in Milwaukee for the owners meeting. We could hear and announcement tomorrow.
