Cubs reportedly sign Jameson Taillon.
Yea, no final word on details. I said earlier in this thread he was a target. They were looking for starting pitching with upside.Cubs reportedly sign Jameson Taillon.
His days of being welcomed back to Wrigley with loving embrace are about to end. I wouldn't be surprised if he was booed.Contreras to the Cards almost a done deal
I won't want Correa if his costs is going up too much.Cubs probably going to sign Swanson as the consolation prize to not getting any of the difference makers at SS. Looking like bogaerts back to Boston and Correa down to SF, Minnesota (yes Minnesota outdoing Chicago), and SD. Not a good look

Swanson has 3 out of 7 seasons in his career with an OPS+ above 100. I'd rather not pay him what he's likely to get. MI defense would be outstanding thoughI won't want Correa if his costs is going up too much.
Cubs are more than just a SS away from competing. As opposed to the cost of not having a SS and not competing?
What reason did Correa have to sign in Minnesota last year? What’s the reason Boggy or Correa would want to be in Chicago at present? Boston is basically in same place as Cubs, but Boggy is a fan favorite there. Correa can go to SD and play with Tatis, Machado, and Soto or Hoerner, Madrigal, and Happ? Hmmmm, decisions decisions.
It is more about the years, and the cost at the back end. I think we still compete without him, and we can look to trade for someone, Cruz, Franco, Mateo, etc... We have more resources besides money to pick one up.As opposed to the cost of not having a SS and not competing?
I think everyone here knows Bogaerts was my guy.....then Turner. Swanson was a "meh" to me. Correa is a hell of a player but the last IAs opposed to the cost of not having a SS and not competing?
Obviously to buy time to a better FA period potentially hence the one year opt out. He’s clearly in it for the money so I would stay far away regardless of how good he might be. As soon as he gets the big contract, he’ll probably coast. What reason did Correa have to sign in Minnesota last year?

heard he was looking for a 10 year deal. If he was early 20's...okay, but he's 28 and a deal like that can kill a team much like Heyward's did. I think I'll wait and see what he signs for before I ***** about Hoyer.
