Yes, every season is sacred. But in no way did Theo ever say he would risk the future for pleasing the most critical of fans. Pretty much everyone in baseball is applauding Theo and company now, those that aren't can't quite battle their cognitive dissonance yet. Confirming your own beliefs has a similar dopamine effect on the brain as heroine does, its addictive.

What shortcomings? That I dont get my panties in a twist about how the Cubs doing business moves? Show me where you proved you were right? Just because you tell yourself you are right doesnt make it reality. It makes you a Narcissist. Every team considers the control game. It is not the only reason to leave a prospect down but it does weigh heavily. The Cubs decided for Bryant to get some rest and keep that extra year of control.
