Well, I guess I can go back prior to any deals made and give you A-Ram versus signing a cancer named Ian Stewart. Whoops!

That would not have deterred any of the Cubs moves since then, so I am not jumping the thought process because the Cubs could have made every single move they have made to date.

And yes, by that one single move, they would be a whole lot tougher than they currently are/were, and that move alone may have factored them into making different moves.

Everything you just said means nothing because part of reason ARam wasnt re signed was because he didn't want to be part of a rebuild , which every move they made after that 2011 season had to do with lowering payroll and rebuilding the system.
So again by his own choice he was not going to a part of any future cubs line up.

To say that someone starts slow is foolish thinking. I would much rather have a hitter getting hot late when it counts. It's called an average for a reason, and A-Ram was by far the best all-around power hitter the Cubs have had since Ryan Sandberg. And yes, by virtue of his low strikeout rate and high OBP, I have him ahead of D-Lee too.

Loved ARam as a Cub ,but his slow starts hurt the cubs those last 2 years because he was being counted on as being a big part of their offense...

Problem with having him hitting late when it counts, the season was already over for the cubs so it counted for nothing but his stats .

Really?

The Brewers weren't rebuilding and were a solid, guaranteed playoff team and weren't trying to rebuild or anything after losing a franchise player in Prince Fielder?

Whoops.

If the Cubs would have offered him more than the one year team option he would have remained a Cub.

To claim he didn't want to be part of a rebuilding process because he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers is the height of ignorance.

And the Cubs being out of it by the time he put up numbers is a TEAM problem, not an Aramis problem, yet idiots blame a single player.

I guess when he hit 15 HR's in just over 60 games and a clutch grand slam in the playoffs after being traded from the Pirates didn't matter at all because it was him hitting late right?

My bad.

The team Aramis signed with, the Brewers, were a solid, championship caliber team that was just one player short and that is why he signed with the Brewers and not because they offered him the most money.

Why anyone would claim that Aramis didn't want to be part of a rebuild because he went and signed with a team that has won 83 and 79 games the last two seasons is beyond me. You may continue your stupidity as usual if you like.

A-Ram had a meeting with Theo after the hire. Then he wanted out.

Ok I take it as:

Tommy: Theo please come to the Cubs. I want to rebuild the farm and I want you to run with it. You will have full control of the draft and adding talent via the system. The draw back is I want to reduce payroll to under 120 mil.

theo: I'm getting grilled in Bean Town and I'm Larry's *****. Sure

theo: so Rammy.....ya we are rebuilding but I will give you a qualifying offer to stick around.

Rammy: **** no man. I need no stinking rebuild.

Despite none of the players being involved being very good, the Cubs got back far less value than they gave away.

THAT is why it was a bad trade.

The end.
Really I am so glad you were able to read even the full sentence you quoted where it was said that it was a bad trade.

Oh my god.. you guys are unreal..
Well if that was the case then I guess he should of accepted the qualifying offer. . Geeze unreal

The only thing that is unreal is the amount of stupidity it takes to claim that he didn't want to be part of a rebuild cause he signed with the Brewers.

That is an unreal amount of ignorance.

Ramirez wasn't in Wednesday's lineup, but before the game he reiterated that he doesn't want to be part of a rebuilding process with the Cubs.

"I'm not that kind of player anymore. I'm 33. I don't know how much longer I'm going to play," Ramirez said. "I know it's hard to win, but I want to compete. That's what I want to do."

Like I said part of the reason he didn't return and accept the qualifying offer was because of the rebuild. .

BS.

I guarantee that if the Cubs offered more money than the Brewers did he would still be playing 3B with the Cubs.

He turned down the qualifying offer cause he wanted a multiyear deal for more money.

first off he was offered more money.. he could've received 16 MIL for 2012 over the 12 mil ( 3/36) he received from the brewers...
who knows , If he had a good season maybe they extend for another season or two or maybe not but we wont know cause he didn't want to stick around for a rebuild..
