Cub's Prospect Watch And Development Discussion Thread

I think it is too early to give up on these two guys, so I do hope they get a lot of AB's in AAA and hopefully work things out.

Lake has power and speed, but no clue. Why don't the Cubs, for starters, just work with his speed? Use him like other teams use speed guys, and stop trying to hit the ball 500 feet!

Olt? Who knows? The guy was a top prospect, has a high HR per AB rate, and absolutely can't hit a lick. What went wrong?

But one thing I don't want to see is these two coming up in Sept. and getting AB's. There aren't enough AB's to go around that last month. I want to see Baez, Alcantara and Soler getting AB's, not Olt and Lake.

ABs in Sept. Will be mostly Pinch hitting and spot starts..
Olt at 3B and Lake in LF won't take any AB away from Baez 2B Alcantara CF or Soler RF

Id be surprised if Sweeney and Schierholtz would still be on team in September...
Wouldnt surprise me if not able to trade , they would be release at some point in August to have a chance to maybe sign with a team to be playoff eligible

Taking AB away from Rugg, Cog, and Boni no big deal
Hopefully if still on team in 2015, their bench players at best

Too far from St. Louis.

I could round trip up to Des Moines, into Illinois to see my parents and back to St. Louis...or Springfield where I work on Mondays. But that is still a lot of driving!

7, 5, 2.....in 2 or 3 days. Dragging kids who wouldn't care....naaaahh.

I don't know who or why it started.... Valbuena is one of the first I can remember see doing it. Along with him doing a weird thing where he looked like he was a penis, masturbated himself and used his hands with a motion up over his head as to look like ejaculate... Haha don't know how to explain and doubt a video exists. It was maybe from last year or so after he hit a double or some shit.
