I'm not a dumb ass and I know it won't be worth it. He's a great ball player but not worht 300M. No ball player is. These contracts are just flat out crazy right now. Who the hell will give Albert a 10 year deal worth 300M to a 32 year old? The idiot New York Yankees. Your all about spending because you just say spend. That's eaiser said than done. If you had that money and was the owner of the Cubs, you wont be too fast to jumping all over that by giving him that ridiclous contract. I would rather the Cubs get a leadoff hitter, pitcher, 2B and a 1B for 30M/300M. That would make way more sense and the team will be better. Depending on players.
2B: Aaron Hill-I expect him to have a bounce back year.
1B: Michael Cuddyer
3B: Jimmy Rollins-Move to 3B in departure of Ramirez (or re-sign Ramirez and move Rollins to 2B. I actually like that better. Don't sign Hill)
P: Edwin Jackson or Scott Kazmir
This just shows the team will be better with more players, than just one player. Signing all these players will exceed 30M a year but just signing Albert, the Cubs will have to sign more players. Not to metnion, worse players.
I know Albert is one hell of a player and will be a nice fit for the Cubs, as they have the most need for a 1B. But IDK if signing one player is better that signing numerous player.. I'm more for signing signing numerous players. Just like KW mentioned in that interview.
