Seriously? this is why i hate some cubs fans... these shirts are a flat:turrible: idea. Once again he IS NOT COMING TO CHICAGO. So waste your money look like a dbag and come next winter when he resigns with the cards/signs with the yanks look like a moron.

This. I also don't see Albert coming to Chicago. He's St. Louis bound. I do see Fielder coming to Chicago, tho.

I understand the feeling...I never embraced Brett Favre as a Viking.

"But he's your best option" Dont care.
"You don't have to like him but you gotta respect him" No I don't.

On top of being the face of the Packers, I also didn't like Favre because he was an attention whore and the whole retiring/unretiring thing, playing when he shouldn't play, etc

I only dislike Pujols because of the rivalry. He's a great player and seems like a decent enough character. I'd let the playing for the Cards thing slide if he comes over.

If I had to guess now, I don't think it's something we'll have to deal with anyway. Even if he leaves St Louis, I don't think we can offer him enough money to be hated there.

Dont get me wrong if he is in cubbie blue i will always hope he helps the team win ultimately that is the goal. I wont buy his jersey or be excited for the guy. Just like when Hossa put the deciding goal in last night, i hate the guy but was happy cause he sealed the victory.

I see albert a cub more then Fielder. I dont see why Cub fans dont want the best player in the game. Prolly a top 5 player of all time. Only cub fans would ***** about paying the top 5 player of all time. This doesnt come around very often and when it does Cubs need to pounce on it.

There's no way in hell I would make Albert the highest paid ball player. Just sayin'.

Pujols is the BEST PLAYER in the game. Right now he prolly top 5 BEST OF ALL TIME. How can you say that. Cubs havent won a World Series in 102 damn years. Putting this guy on your team makes your team better easily. If your saying you dont want the best player in MLB on your team then your idiot. No other way i can say it.

Dude take chill on pujols man, more then likely he is not coming to Chicago. A person is not an idiot if they dont want the guy on the team, its just that person's personal preference. Me personally if the cubs use their money on pujols, or can get fielder and kelly johnson and a rp for the same price as what they would spend on just pujols. I will take the latter.

I'm not a dumb ass and I know it won't be worth it. He's a great ball player but not worht 300M. No ball player is. These contracts are just flat out crazy right now. Who the hell will give Albert a 10 year deal worth 300M to a 32 year old? The idiot New York Yankees. Your all about spending because you just say spend. That's eaiser said than done. If you had that money and was the owner of the Cubs, you wont be too fast to jumping all over that by giving him that ridiclous contract. I would rather the Cubs get a leadoff hitter, pitcher, 2B and a 1B for 30M/300M. That would make way more sense and the team will be better. Depending on players.

2B: Aaron Hill-I expect him to have a bounce back year.
1B: Michael Cuddyer
3B: Jimmy Rollins-Move to 3B in departure of Ramirez (or re-sign Ramirez and move Rollins to 2B. I actually like that better. Don't sign Hill)
P: Edwin Jackson or Scott Kazmir

This just shows the team will be better with more players, than just one player. Signing all these players will exceed 30M a year but just signing Albert, the Cubs will have to sign more players. Not to metnion, worse players.

I know Albert is one hell of a player and will be a nice fit for the Cubs, as they have the most need for a 1B. But IDK if signing one player is better that signing numerous player.. I'm more for signing signing numerous players. Just like KW mentioned in that interview.

What has Fielder or Johnson ever won? What has Pujols won? I would take Pujols over those two any day. Again we are talking about the best player in today's game and One of the BEST EVER. This guy is up there with Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron. To steal the BEST PLAYER away from your rival would be HUGE!!!!

Nope. Maybe not those players, but I'm trying to prove a point. The lineup will be way more balance. Also, don't forget..who the hell will be the Cubs 3B next year? Oh that's right, just go with Vitters, the Cubs have Albert and no other postion will matter. My bad.

But he is 32 and to drop that kind of money on a guy is a big gamble. The guy is great no question. He would make the team better no question... But look at waldo's post if we can solidify 3-4 positions for the same price as him i gotta go with making the whole team stronger all around then just offense.

what looks better:

Jackson CF
Castro SS
Pujols 1B
A-Ram 3B
Soto C
Colvin RF
Soriano LF
Dewitt/Baker

or

Rollins 2B
Castro SS
Cuddeyer 1B
A-Ram 3B
Soto C
Soriano LF
Colvin RF
Jackson CF

I would take a Pujols lineup anyday over a overated Rollins and avg Cuddeyer....By the Way Kazmir SUCKS.. Jackson is ok but not worth losing Pujols.

Just to let you know, Ramirez will probably walk if the Cubs sign Albert. Or he'll have to take a big big pay-cut.

Yeah that will be awesome. It will be over 30M but maybe around 45M. The Cubs don't need SP. I think 4 spots could be locked up: Z, Demp, Garza and Cash.

Rollins: 10M a year
Ramirez 10M a year
Fielder 20M a year.
Wood 2M a year:
4th OF: Low

Why would you guys want 33 y/o Rollins when 28 y/o Reyes would hit market?

Cubs could pick up option plus get Pujols if owner would spend what he suppose to in Chicago. If the owner wants to fill seats unlike the way its looking for this year he will have to put winning team on the field. i already posted what i thought under another thread about that lol

either one will work just depends on the budget, Reyes has had a problem staying healthy though... But if the cubs could work him in instead of Rollins that makes the lineup even nastier. Tell me Daddiesangels do you hate that lineup?

Reyes will earn like 15M a year and most likely will re-sign with Mets. I don't see Rollins re-signing with Phills.
