Schwarber just gonna have to realize his quickest route to the cubs is via LF. .. he goes to iowa on Monday and starts playing LF, he could be back up by next weekend IF he continues to hit these next 4 games..

Not really his decision. They feel he has the skill set to be a major league catcher. Most likely that will happen. But like I said if he just rakes it will get them thinking. Sure Theo said (regardless of the results) still if he just knocks 4 HR's and 15 RBI's hitting over .400 over that span it makes you stop and think it over really hard.

Just 1 approach. But being the flexable type You could see a line up like that a few times. Nothing is ever set in stone with him. The next game you could see Bryant at LF and Schwarber in at catcher and Alcantara in CF.

I would not rule anything out with Maddon in making it all work.

That's very true. That would actually probably be Maddon's dream to be able to move his pieces around like that lol

Not really a dream. The team has the talent to pull it off. Not to mention that they all ready signed Ian Happ. We should be watching him jumping up the ranks very soon now. Signed right away. Shoot he should be in A+ by the end of the year. AA next and in the same discussion as Bryant and Schwarber are/were in. He could end up being the CF of the future.

They are drafting with a purpose now.

I was gonna mention this earlier but you have to think now that Vogelbach is not even in the cubs plans at all and i know bryant for sure and seems Schwarber is too are exceptional hitters.. looks bad for Vogelbach to have 2 new guys pass him by this year..
I say this cause wouldn't you think they could've easily brought vogelbach up to DH these games and not stir the pot yet with Schwarber. .

I really hope they can send him in a package to get a TOR type to be honest. They don't have to but his value is peaking right now. He is getting attention with his tweet to Kyle's promotion. So he is becoming more of a known outside of Chicago due to this now. His talent is already there. But he is blocked pure and simple. That is not changing.

So they promoted Medina? Did they send Rosscup to the DL?

It was a joke because he's into sabermetrics, but what about Almora? Wasn't he supposed to be the CF of the future?

Yea, have to think he the first guy the cubs offer up from the system to teams for possible trades..

He 22 in AA , hitting well with moderate power..

Jesse Rogers thinks they will do it. Wada pitched well today but this is a team that has not seen him yet. I place little faith that he could just do that to them a 2nd time.

Media was the guy they got in return for Castillo.

Rosscup was DL's so that was the change. I didn't really care for 3 lefties in the pen anyways.

And the return of Neil Ramirez could make a huge difference. The Cubs say they’ll take it slow as Ramirez begins a rehab stint from shoulder issues at Double-A Tennessee -- but just the idea of him returning is a boost for the pen.

“He could be a big part of what we’re doing,” Maddon said. “Getting him back could really solidify that whole group.”

ESPN

So they are going to ease him back. No rush.

Well Kyle is doing a really good job of making Theo 2nd think him going down to AAA.

Really?

Did you miss the part where Theo said "No matter what happens, he will be sent to AAA on Sunday."?

Players go a whole career without a 4 hit game and he does it in his first start...

I predict his first HR will come in minny

I know that. But 4 for 5 today. Again I said if he rakes 4 HR's and 15 RBI's while hitting .400 it will make anyone think it over. No way that Theo just goes robot mode.

I think he said that due to if he falls on his face vs major league pitching it wouldn't lead to him going back to AA vs AAA. No one expects a guy to just come up and dominate from AA to the majors. Could he? ya he has that skill set and maturity.

Now I could see the playing time argument and not even bringing up LF as a possible answer to the public. But internal talks you bet that has and will come up again if Schwarber keeps this up.

Too early to tell right now being just 1 good game. But if it becomes 6 very good games it makes you step back and wonder it the media will over blow it.
