wait, so defensive physical hockey can be successful?

then why wrre you all over me for saying dallas beat the hawks by doing EXACTLY that?[/QUOTE]

hows that 1 dimension working out for dallas?

Pretty good considering they have very little skill compared to a team like the Blackhawks. Both offensively and defensively.

BOOM!

haha ok. tell that to nashville who is built on defense, physical play, and goal tending....you cnat change philosophy on the fly. you know that right? You would have to add 3 players at least with physical play in order to offset curren hawks philosophy.

BOOM! go away

Not anytime soon. If I do, I'll be sure to make a thread about it though.

not quite as well as Nashville and st louis but still in the race

so you're admitting I was right in my post game assessment that dallas beat the hawks with a defensive physical game plan?

we didnt lose because of physical play. We lost do to bad shot selection as the shots on goal were plentyful, they were bad choices and the fact that we had no one in front of the net. They played the perimeter too much yesterday. The hits werent like the hits that we took from VAN in the playoffs, these were just your normal hits, nothing huge, nothing powerful.

If you want more hits, you need a player that has both skillsets. Offensive minded punisher, simple as that. If you think we are just your normal grinder away from winning this thing than you are going to be heart broken.

but you don't need huge powerful hits.

constant physical pressure is plenty and gets the job done. it was last night and as you pointed out- it was in last years playoff series.

Yea, it has to be a sad day when a 30+ year old male throws a temper tantrum after getting beat in video games and then quits the league. Sad.

haha! its a video game. I quit the league because I want to play against people who play as close as authentic hockey as possible on a video game, you do none of that....i thought I explained why i quit...oh wait i did 30 times already.

I know you can see the difference in last nights game and the game(s) against VAN. They need a guy that can play physical in that type of series that actually has some skill. a combo player would be great right now, but I cant see a player like that being obtained. So I prefer the 2nd line center that is skilled to offset matchups.

haha what an excuse! Amazing!

You complained that I scored too much by centering the puck to the slot and scoring. haha!

Ahhh Dews, what a life.

stop with OTT. He is NOT anything that is going to propel this team to the cup, we need a more skilled version of him if you want the physical play.

Acually Steve Ott is probably the most skilled type of guy that's his type. They don't get much better than him and he shows why every night

ok icehog. grindiness!

way to ignore the points per game response i had for ya with statsny and getz!

again, ott doesnt do anything to get you in the finals. he would be a compliment to a skilled player addition.
