So funny that everyone complains about Velus's age but wanted the OT that was 5 months younger.

The age isn't as big of a deal to me as the fact that he can't run routes.....and is 25.

Ridley was like what....24 and change when drafted? I woulda loved to have him because he was a route master.

Feel like the hardest thing to learn in the nfl is how to get open. Speed alone doesn't do that. Why I always valued route running. I'll still give VJJ the benefit of the doubt until I watch him play.

You can position him to scheme him open and feed him, let him run.
He's Inspector gadget.

Velus Jones Jr. WR, TENN

Height: 6-0, Weight: 200
YAC phenom in the Deebo Samuel mold. Kick-return specialty appears when he's catching the ball on offense. Not a route-running specialist. Crazy timed speed. Doesn't quite play to that level. Old prospect who's already 25. If he was younger, he'd have gone much earlier. Special with the ball in his hands.

B+

Willie gault's top year in college= 668 yards.

None of this means he'll be great or even succeed but Brugler's take also doesn't mean he'll bust.
Hes 25 but if we can get 4 years at a high level of productivity out of him he`d be completely worth the pick. After that you likely let him go because his rookie contract will be up and he`ll demand big money. Not sure why people are flipping out over this pick. Dude runs a 4.3 40!!! I will take that all day and just get him the ball by any means necessary and let him make some plays. If the dude can give you 7+ tds and a 1.5k yards between rush/receiving/returns year in and year out thats a huge win.

I don't understand the freak out either and will wait and see how he does but 4.3 is only part of the equation. Airese Currie and Isiah Frey ran 4.4 when that was fast. Remember them?
Exactly

so many posters here should prolly be quiet about bashing Velus since they were early supporters lol
The certainty of which people were just SO SURE that Velus Jones was going to be a difference-maker---Lol, made no sense.

It took dude 6 years of college to hit 600 yards in a season. Everything was purely hope and projection.

Exactly. A lot of what 'Las Velus' does will be dependent on how Getsy deploys him. And how his speed is utilized.

He got his shit ran out of town brother!

I remember one time Velus went up for a catch and dropped his AARP card on the turf.

Yeah, I told everyone that pick was dumb AF. 24 yo wrs hitting their peak against 18 yos is seriously bust territory

His problem, was being lackadaisical and not focused, which he admitted in a inter new of losing focus at times.....ie waste of talent.
