You're the pussies I encounter in Alaska and Africa, who can finally afford to take a real trip at the age of 50 or 60, but stay on the tour buses, while I'm the one who actually gets off the camper bus to explore the backcountry in Denali.

IDK, have never seen the movie but am aware of the gist of it, and I don't know whose alt this is but I am on board. Backpacking in the wilderness is the shit and how I am spending much of my Boomer retirement (when I'm not on the tennis & pickle court and subsequently cross-fading nightly), albeit from a base camp of an overpriced Airstream. Spending time in the wild/nature is nothing to be trolled, it is bliss and enriching. I am gearing up for the full PCT in 2024 and have Alaska/Denali on my bucket list. Just sayin....

Alaska is wild, grand, and spectacular. I was nervous in denali at times. Almost everything is off trail, and you run into obstacles.
A great thing is you can hike until well past midnight at certain times of year, and still have more than enough light to set up camp.
I actually think plenty of areas in the northern rockies are more pretty, and feel just as wild in spots than Alaska does. I'm not sure I have an urge or reason to go back to Alaska because of that.

You may have lived in denali for reasons that I would have never wanted to myself, and its very likely the case . Frankly, I don't even care why you lived there.
