He was the reason the Bears failed to convert on the biggest play of the game. Don't believe me? Ask Darnell Wright. He'll tell you the same thing.
Who brought this guy in this position? It should never be the biggest play of the game.

Was you free of failures ever in life? You're really a funny guy.

I asked how he played in 48 snaps. You gave me one. Continue.

Now look up the rating of the guy you passed on at ninth overall so you could get Bobbie Massie on a rookie deal.

I dont think any question Carter's talent. They questioned his character after his actions helped to kill 2 people allegedly.

I will also note Carter is only really being used on passing downs in Philly but yes he has been great in that role.

If you are talking about Paris Johnson, he was drafted at #6.

If you are talking about Carter, I agree.

Functionally the Bears passed on every player in this draft. From CJ Stroud to Devon Witherspoon to Jalen Carter. Ryan Poles could have had anyone, he chose to have Darnell Wright. I am going to hold him accountable for that. If you want to le thim off the hook for passing on a possible franchise quarterback, Champ Bailey and Warren Sapp so he could get Bobbie Massie? You do you.

So what, he didn't get beaten on every play that means he's great? Offensive line is about consistency. Somebody who fucks up ten percent of the time is a complete disaster to have at that position.

Don't get personal with me because I'm calling it like I see it.
In about 60 words, you just:
1 spun some story about me giving Poles a huge break because I told you that Paris Johnson was drafted 6th.
2 indicated that you think Wright for any other player in the draft should be viewed as a 1:1 trade.
3 Called two guys who've been played 4 games in the NFL Champ Bailey and Warren Sapp. I was a huge fan of both those guys in the draft, btw.

What do you expect me to think?

Some guys just come into the league and kick ass right away. When is the last time any Bears player did that? Kyle Fuller, who then collapsed pretty shortly thereafter? Realistically you have to go back to at least Tommie Harris if not the Lance Briggs/Charles Tillman draft.

I am saying the year the Bears picked first overall had to be the year the Bears got that player. Trading it away so you could get DJ Moore isn't doing this year's team any favors and that 2025 first? Well all your chips are in now on that asset. Carolina certainly has very little incentive to tank, can't say the same for the Giants, Raiders and Broncos (and whoever else decides this season isn't worth it).

Darnell Wright at best is an average player at a non-premium position. Bobbie Massie on a rookie deal. That's just not good enough, I don't care what else you got in that trade. Feel free to disagree, but don't get all nasty and personal with me.

Eddie Jackson did. But that first paragraph doesn't make any point connected to your previous post.

Other than Stroud, none of those other players has the capacity to make much of a dent in this thing, this year. When the trade is over, you can say that DJ Moore, Wright, Stevenson, the 24 first and the 25 second are less valuable than Devon Witherspoon if that's the case. But I think throwing all those chances away, plus a proven #1 WR, for one non-QB would probably have been a poor decision given the state of the Bears. Stroud looks great, but out of the gate several young QBs who subsequently struggled did as well: Murray, Herbert, Dak, and Watson just off the top of my head.

You have as much idea of what Darnell Wright will be as anyone else does, which is very little. You undervalue people specifically because they were acquired by Poles (you did this with Moore, and hopefully have walked it back after seeing him play). That is illogical.

I was commenting based on the things you wrote - and explained to them why they indicated a manic state. If I hurt your feelings, I am sorry. I remember you going into what seemed to be a manic state previously discussing some political topics, and you got very nasty and personal with me, so I thought that was no big deal for you.

Oh I don't care if you get nasty with me, its just a classic move to pivot the point of what were talking about here to some personal referendum on me rather than the topic at hand. Dishonest move.

And yeah man, I'm just gonna say it....right now I'd rather have Devon Witherspoon or Jalen Carter than that collection of assets. Premium players, premium position, rookie contract...the holy trifecta. A veteran receiver who will probably be washed by the time the Bears are good enough to string two wins together, a right tackle you could've replicated with a street free agent and two picks ain't doing it for me. At this point you're hoping you get a Jalen Carter or Devon Witherspoon with that Carolina pick next draft or things look kind of dire. Quantity does not always have a quality all of its own.

I am with you about CJ Stroud possibly flaming out, we'll see, but if he goes on to be Justin Herbert and Justin Fields gets shipped off to Atlanta then Ryan Poles needs to be held accountable for that.

And yeah, I know what Darnell Wright is after four games. Its not hard to see and put together. Right tackle, limited physical ability, not averse to penalties and prone to failure at critical plays. He certainly is not going to be a Lane Johnson, and that's kind of what you would need to feel good about passing on Jalen Carter to get him.

It would be a pivot move if I hadn't been actually making full arguments with you the whole time. Your first post to me was just craziness - no need to respond seriously because of how disjointed and frankly crazy it was.

You don't even know what that collection of assets is yet. And Moore is a great player. So I guess that's fine but I don't see it.

I would rather have Carter too, but definitely willing to give Wright more time. There is no indication in the film or in the numbers that he's as bad as you think he is.

Justin Herbert isn't more than an above average QB over the last couple years, even with a solid group around him. Lower ypa than Fields last year I think. That could be coaching. Using a #2 pick on that isn't some home run at this point.

Even if Darnell Wright pans out to become the best RT in the league, he will still have less market value than Carter or Witherspoon.

Ok and you still have to factor in whoever is drafted in the Panthers pick next season as well as DJ Moore who is our best player obviously

??? Are you saying the Bears couldn't have drafted Jalen Carter at ninth overall?

Darnell Wright and Jalen Carter are a direct apples to apples comparison. Bears passed on one to take the other directly. Devon Witherspoon was more indirectly passed on, like Paris Johnson Jr. and CJ Stroud were.
