Hmmm. . .now I have a better sense of what you meant by coat. Also, so many point to hit on!

Yes, absolutely agree about Gap coats. Now I have to disclose that haven't bought any other than lightweight summer cotton ones or else leather jean jacket style ones in well over a decade BUT I can tell you that I do still rock ALL the time a couple of Gap coats that are 18-20 years old! And both were naturally from their infamous sale racks back in those days, heh. My kelly green rain coat (which admittedly does look VERY rough these days in terms of the sort of rubber coating fraying or wearing away but NO HOLES) which I even have with me today because of our rain and a mid-weight quilted lining dark denim peacoat which has only just frayed around the cuff hems. As we all know, everything old is new again so I was not surprised when kelly green became an *it* color again last year/this year and also when peacoats came back into vogue not too long ago. These coats have served me immensely well. Man I love wearing that damn denim peacoat in the fall with interesting scarfs!

Since the Nicole Miller is from a previous season it's not going anywhere but down from a price perspective so perhaps it can get to below $50 USD someday. At least it's solid and I say if you can do a white coat or gray then red can also be rocked as a "basic" or neutral color imo even if it's a red one other than say this one. Keep it mind---you *seem* like you could rock red wool.

I am really surprised that a French Connection coat busted up on you so quickly. Usually their stuff as well as FCUK stand the test of time. Interesting. But then I have only gotten wool scarves from them of late. Maybe they have lowered their manufacturing standards? In any event I am surprised that you don't know any sewing Etsy or designer/creative types who could help you out. Coat linings are indeed expensive to replace but if it's a smokin' nice black wool from FC I say if you have a friend or relative who could help you out with free sewing labor then go for it.

Dearest Mule,

So you worry that people think you are that stupid. How perplexing on an anonymous message board. So I am going to tear down your world by saying, yes, I do think you are that stupid. Fear me. Fear my ridicule and mockery! HIZZAH!

Okay Mule, I have AWOL'ed on the whole coat tip. I am sure you will find a black or gray wool thingy on the cheap from Gap or some place else.

I was just trawling Mod Cloth and so now I will turn your attention to the MEGA summer sale that they are having on your fave. . .dresses! Like 70% off! Literally tons of dresses in the $13.99 - $21.99 range. Although I don't do adorable little dresses I do advocate for snatching up steals even if you have to save them for the next year---it just totes means when the next summer rolls around you can have *new* outfits to bust out, things dripping in tags.

It's so tough right now Mule. Sooooo many places are having mega clearance sales with up to 70%-80% off. This does not appeal to one's better angels. . .or better sense. There are so many shoes and sundry other things that I want from Yoox right now. Sighs.

WHOLE DRESS SALE: http://www.modcloth....rice asc&page=1

I pretty much want all the dresses linked here. And at least half of the stuff in the dress sale. I actually need to do a purge and re-assess my clothing situation before autumn rolls around. There might even be some summer dresses that I will retire. It's sad but true. Also, I need to do a new count. Yes, I like to count how many dresses I own, mostly so when people ask, "OMG, how many dresses do you own?" that I can provide them with a solid number. My guess is that I now have around 90.

At the PNE yesterday my friend and I got so many compliments on the dresses we were wearing, though they were both nothing too fancy. It was just the fact that we weren't dressed like tourists or hobos. Not that I have anything against tourists or hobos, they just have a different fair-going style.

No! Boys are allowed, and in fact encouraged to experience the beauty of this thread. They should take some time to get in here and enjoy.

Every time I make the mistake of going in here my balls shrink. I have to go watch porn to return them to the correct size.

And yet, and yet. . .you post. Seemingly counter-intuitive to your pissiness. And for a dude who's always chirping up opinions about simple black dresses, dresses from UO being too short, your coworkers's shoes, having an opinion about say blue/orange shoes, and pretty fingernails you really have some fucking nerve spitting out a man card deuce at this juncture.
