How do you know that’s the case?

I’ve answered this already. This isn’t a court of law I can’t prove it without a shadow of a doubt.

They have interviewed or shown interest in 4 people. 3 of them are spoken for. We can hope that the last one standing, the guy Dennis Allen fired is choice #1.

He might turn out to be the best oline coach of all time who knows?

The 2 names that were immediately thrown around by reporters were Fraley and Roushar. It appears that Roushar has not explicitly said "no" yet, so they still have what seems to be a top option available.

Have the Bears named a "Run Game Coordinator" yet? I wonder if they are negotiating over stuff like that and then hence salary.

He could be option 2. I read yesterday they wanted the ND guy but he supposedly is choosing to stay in ND. No way to know if that is 100% true (I thought this was obvious but apparently I must state this with every time)

Oline coach is typically run game coordinator. I’d be surprised if he didn’t get that title. I think it’s basically a done deal. I have a hard time believing Frye takes the Cardinals job if the Bears were offering it to him.

Do we know Plan A was Fraley? (Or whatever his name is). All I saw was some fan speculation there. Fan speculation doesn’t equal “plan A”
We’d probably never know, but why not… he took other Detroit coaches, and seems more likely that not they Fraley would’ve been of strategic importance. He got a promotion to stay, so I’m sure someone was offering him something to leave.

I'm not sure Fraley would even be getting all this attention if he didn't have great OL from LT all the way over to RT so i'm going to hope Poles gets the right guys for all 5 spots and then i won't have as much worry about who our OL coach is.

“By all accounts” was typed for a reason. We know he was good enough to be interviewed here and hired by another team within 24 hours of their last oline coach getting promoted.
Yea, but by all accounts, all the guys we’re interviewing are good.

Yea, I think all the worrying over position coaches is a bit much. Any dude with a history of doing it for good programs for a while is probably pretty good enough. They aren’t reinventing the wheel here. Just have the knowledge and an attention to detail and willingness to tell people when they’re not doing good enough… other than that, they need the talent.

It’s not even what I wrote and I’ve answered this like 5 times. You sound like this to me:

“How dare you question my Bears! They can do no wrong and I can’t allow my mind to think anything negative cause I can’t process my feelings”
Fair enough. I didn’t read the whole thread.
It’s just pretty common here that every time another team hires a guy they are brilliant and if the Bears had hired that same guy they are idiots.
I just wait and see what happens.

I never ranked the coaches. I have said I don’t know who they are. I’m just not being positive about this process for oline coach.

He wanted Fraley he said no.
He interviewed the ND oline coach he said no.
The Frye guy was at least interviewed but is now gone.

We are left with a non committed Dan R who Dennis’s Allen fired.

I’m sorry if I’m not thrilled about this situation.
When did Ben say any of those things? I know fans were hoping he went after Fraley but dont recall Ben ever claiming that. Same with the ND and OSU coaches. Who saod they were offered the job and refused?

It is fair to speculate based on rumors or media reports but the hysterical way you are reacting gives the impression you dont grasp that most of what you said is pure speculation.

So you are saying you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

"waste"? He just ha the best Gross and Net average per punt in franchise history.

Oh, you mean we should have kept Tress 6 years ago because he was good in 2024, right? Yeah, great idea.
You guys always bas things on franchise history, where other than RB it's a really a low bar
