Give up the ghost on Tracy McGrady. He's washed up. He just doesn't know it yet.

Deng may have been overpaid, but he is earning that contract now. Noah isn't exactly overpaid, given what he does and how much other C's are getting currently. Boozer? Well, he has to not get injured so much and he production will match his contract.

And yes you are right, they seem to be very hesitant to hand out money to FA's that might possibly sign here. I think missing out on J-Rich, Caron, and VC is a good thing.

But that solely depends on us finally signing Rip.
I mentioned TMac only to make a point. I didn't want him anyway.

Deng earned last year's paycheck, but what about years before that? We were all clamoring to dump Deng. I truly hope he can repeat last year's success, but there's really not a lot of reason to believe he will. I guess with rumors of Nene getting a max deal, yeah Noah's deal isn't too bad. Considering that centers get way overpaid all the time anyway, I guess we can't complain too much about that. I hope that Boozer's production will match his contract too, but again, not a lot of reason to believe it.

I'm not sure if I like Rip any more than Richardson or Crawford or even Butler. I mean...he is an upgrade and I'll take him, but those other guys can do more for us than he can. But I guess we don't exactly have the money for some of those other guys...

I think the FO was asking most of the free agents to accept lesser years in a deal. I also think they were biding their time, waiting to see who would hit the market. And though many people may "rip" this signing, it is right in-line with the way the FO has always gone about gathering talent. They want winners, who are committed to hard work & sacrifice for the ultimate goal. Rip is a winner, with the most playoff experience of any of the free agents, 1 of only 4 players to average 20+ pts over 100+ post season appearances, a former all-star, & a NBA champion. This is a great signing for us & I think Rip will waste no time in making rabid fans out of the haters.

I'm still not settled on the idea of signing Rip. If someone had a chance to talk to him about the whole walk out thing, and if we could get more closure and comfort to know that he isn't going to go to extremes when he is unhappy. He's too old to be playing diva games, although we're forgiving in Chicago, so c'mon Rip, talk to us about what you would do to improve the team from your own words, and how you have dealt with your past.

The thing thats nice about Rip rather than JCraw is that he doesnt require the ball in his hands all the time... But then he cant create when Rose is trapped or when Rose is cold, but hopefully Boozer will come back better this year and help that out also.

One thing that I noticed last year is that we tried to use Korver as Rip always running him off screens and it didnt really work out. It'll be interesting to see if Rip starts to take minutes away from Korver

I was giving you shit anyway. No worries.

I wasn't, he got injured, but I knew if he was healthy, he could really help this team and he did.

That's it right there. Honestly, I will be happy with Rip if that's what is going to happen. He will hit more shots than Bogans did and that can only help us. Plus he was a part of one of the past decades' toughest defenses and coming to a defensive oriented team will feel right at home to him.

I am kinda worried about that too because Thibs is a no bullshit coach! But if you look at his twitter he seems super excited to come here and maybe actually winning more than 30 games will help out his attitude

not of that will happen here.

It was more guys than Rip that had problems with John kuester. And they had a reason to be.. he ws doing a shitty job and changing the lineups every night it seemed like. on top of that, th pistons sucked.. he was one of the leadesr on the team, so w/e he did, guys followed.

the Bulls don't suck, the players respect Thibs and Rip won't be the leader here. He wouldn't be able to pull here what he pulled in Detroit.

I don't blame Rip for rebeling against the worst coach in nba history...
And he is no longer there coach anymore for a reason.....Rip stood up to managements poor judgment ......The guy had to sit and watch detroit crumble around him for years....Now that he is released from Heell, he probably feels like a new man and FRESH.......and on the Bulls, a contender.....Rip will be good for us.....

We need to hurry up and get SOMEBODY. J-Rich re-signed with the Magic, so it's getting to the point where we need to wise up and land somebody who'll make an impact. I'd be disappointed if we went into the season without an upgrade at SG. With Kurt Thomas leaving, we also need to get another big man who can play both power forward and center.

I'm not going to lie, though. I'm really excited about Jimmy Butler. I think he could be something special. Hopefully he'll get some playing time, unlike James Johnson.

I'm sure there are other teams interested, but it seems like it's a done deal that he is coming here. KC & Sam have been reporting on this for days & they are pretty in-tune with management's thinking. I'm guessing the other 2 teams are Boston & San Antonio, but on both those teams he would not be starting & it also requires a much farther move for him & his family. We have wanted him since last season, & the interest was mutual back then.

We'll know around noon tomorrow.

It's no guarantee he starts in Chicago. I think that's more of an assumption by everyone.

DC, I know you love Brewer, but if Rip signs here, he's starting. Sorry bro.

Its not about a love for anybody. Nobody thought Bogans would start all of last year for the most part, and he did. Rip does exactly what Brewer does expect he settles for midrange jumpers and runs a little more. But Thibs is gonna play the best defender and Rip is not that, Sorry.

honestly i would hope not

ronnie would have started last yr if not for the injury

& he deserves to start this yr not bs bogans starting or rip

if we get him good hes the official 6th man until he grasps everything & proves ronnie should be the 6th man instead of him

The only problem is if he doesn't start he might throw a fit and stage a walk out. A walk out that only he will attend this time.

Guys, it all sounds nice in theory, but Rip will win the spot if he's signed here. I love Brewer's D & energy, but Rip is a consistent scorer, who will occupy a defender with his constant motion on offense. Thibs is a creature of habit. He has defined his roles & loves his "bench mob". Competition is good for everyone, but let's not kid ourselves here, Rip is the better of the 2 players & we will be hearing his name blasted over the sounds of Alan Parsons pretty soon.

That is if he signs here, because everyone hates Chicago & D-Rose & Winter & Rahm Emannuel & blahblablah.
