The offseason so far has been almost entirely centered around him. They brought in three new pass catchers and hired an offensive HC and OC that will run a system to play to his strengths. You really think the desire to get an impact defender in the draft = "wanting to set Trubisky up to fail"?

FFS.

No, I'm thinking people mocking defense with some late round offense shows their desire. It was this way before any offseason moves happened.
What the coaches have done has nothing to do with it, I'm sure they are building a team around Trubisky.

The Giants have already said they are not touching a QB, they will be going after Chubb or Barkley. It's all over Serius NFL radio, their GM was on and it even came from his mouth.

So you think the Giants are gonna publicly say what they're not gonna do with the 2nd pick in the draft? That's a big draft no no.

If people are mocking defense first I think it's because most of the best talent around pick 8 looks to be defense. (at least to me it does)

Bears Called It
Isaiah Oliver will be drafted by the Chicago Bears.

Other 31 Teams Called It
The Jets do not draft a QB in the first round.

What The Hell Called Its
There will be one inter-division trade.

There's been a lot of interest shown in I.Oliver by the Bears so i actually not only see that could happen but also think it will happen.

Derwin James is drafted ahead of Minkah Fitzpatrick
DJ Moore is drafted ahead of Calvin Ridley
Josh Sweat is drafted ahead of Harold Landry

#3 is bold but the other 2....not so much.

I don't mind BPA at #8. We're set up to take BPA that falls to us this year. I've had the sim give me D at #8 many times.
It's the rnd5-7 WR (before FA WR moves) and late oline that makes me think people either want Trubisky to fail or they think "there's your QB, win with him".
And then they'll pull out the old, "How many Super Bowls has he won." with Hester as our #1 WR.

I hate that we wait all this time for the draft and then the day it comes we get one fucking round and then that next day waiting for round 2 to start is always slow as hell.

Chubb and Barkley go top 5.
Colts take Nelson
SF trades up with Bucs and takes Edmunds.
Pace doesn’t get any worthwhile trade down offers and picks Smith.

The Bears take Davenport. Not sure if it’s a result of a trade down or not. Sometimes the need and player are just too good a fit to ignore.

My first 8 mock draft:
1. Sam Darnold
2. Saquon Barkley
3. Josh Rosen
4. Bradley Chubb
5. Josh Allen
6. Baker Mayfield (via Bills trade with Colts)
7. Derwin James
8. Quenton Nelson

That's right...4 QBs in the first 6 picks...crazy stuff. I rather trade down here in this scenario. The Bills #12 or the Cardinals #15 would be ideal. The Patriots #23 is kind of late for me, so I wouldn't trade for that. This would be my draft board heading into the first round:

1. Bradley Chubb (DE) - my ideal but unrealistic pick at #8
2. Saquon Barkley (RB) - if he's still there, I'm shopping him and hoping some team gives up all their draft picks for him (Ricky Williams!)
3. Harold Landry (Edge) - this is my pick at #8 if Chubb isn't there
4. Quenton Nelson (OG) - possible he makes it to #8, and I'd try to trade down with a QB needy team if he was there.
5. Derwin James (S) - not likely to be there at #8 imo
------------------------------------ If you're optimistic, these guys are at #12 or #15
6. Tremaine Edmunds (LB)
7. Roquan Smith (LB)
-------------------------------------Realism begins around here if we trade to #12 or #15
8. Calvin Ridley (WR)
9. Josh Jackson (CB)
10. Marcus Davenport (Edge)
11. Minkah Fitzpatrick (DB)
12. Vander Esch (LB)
13. Denzel Ward (CB)
14. Carlton Davis (CB)
15. Rashaan Evans (LB)
16. Vita Vea (DT)
17. Da'ron Payne (DT)
18. Will Hernandez (OG)
19. Isaiah Wynn (OG)
20. Orlando Brown (OT)
21. Justin Reid (S)

Crazy prediction?

Most of the CCS members are either satisfied or happy with our #1 pick ... and Ommy calls Pace an idiot (ok, that 2nd part is a given).
nc0gnet0 finds a negative to every pick.
Remy somehow determines every pick is a reach because of Paces inability to get a conditional 7th for Meredith
Vick Ashley baits Greg Gabriel into a street fight.
