I've been saying for a few years now they should have a best offensive defensemen award.

Kind of like how there is now the Art Ross and Rocket Richard trophy

Have the Norris trophy and the Orr trophy

Toews is frequently recognized by his peers, coaches and writers as the best player in the league, but because he doesn't put up the offensive numbers he doesn't get nominated for Hart.

In the last ten seasons, there have been two Hart winners in the West, and I don't expect Getzlaf to win this year.

Not as bad as some of the other awards though (two west coast winners in twenty years for the Vezina)

The Hart voting is rarely anything other than a straight-down-the-line run of the NHL scoring leaders. So the Hart and Art Ross pretty much go hand-in-hand.

So racist that you don't think anyone other than italians play good defence.

sick of this shit

After HASB in 2012, Ton knows Italians aren't the best at defense.

Easy Hall of famer. 2 olympic golds, 2 cups, 2 norris.

cant keep him out. There is going to be an entire Wing just for the current Hawk players. And Kings players. No wing for the Rangers though.

Nice that he won again. Definitely played better this year than last. HOF? Can't say I disagree with that at this point.

He's also the first of the current Blackhawks to lock up a jersey retirement.

You really think #2 will be retired before 88 or 19?

Doubt it... Toews will be next.

Keith will retire before Toews.

Actually, Hossa may beat Keith.

A guy that has played 5/16 seasons with an organization? Unlikely.

Even if he plays 2 more years. 7/18 isn't worth getting your number retired.

Hossa has currently played 29% of his career games as a Hawk. Just don't see it happening.
