Every Fields sack against Green Bay, for the “geniuses” that are saying that he “held onto the ball to long”

He completed nearly 70% of his passes, and over 9 yards per attempt.

I read that and see that if you keep Fields in the “pocket” you have a good chance to win, because as we saw today, by and large, there was no pocket. On the few times there was, the ball came out quick, clean, accurate, and on time. Shit, If the interior of the line could’ve held up, I absolutely believe that the Bears would’ve won this game.

It was SO bad.

So many idiots on this message board are so accustomed to bad quarterback play that they zealously defend mediocrity.

Look at these plays.

At 0:39, the corners bail, the linebacker blitzes, and as a result, Kmet is totally uncovered on the out route, just wide the **** open, and Fields doesn't see it. Yeah, Braxton Jones gets bullrushed right into Fields' lap, but if Fields was a good quarterback, he would have recognized the blitz and coverage, and the ball would be out right here.

At 2:50, it's a 3 step drop and they're sending six pass rushers. The ball has to come out. I don't have the All-22 so I don't know who is or isn't open downfield, but no offensive line in the NFL is going to hold up very long when they send 6, and it's a 3 step drop so this is a play specifically designed to get rid of the ball quickly, but Fields holds it and eats the sack.

At 4:53, the pocket collapses very quickly with only a 4 man rush, which, yes, is bad OL play, and it looks like Fields' first read was Kmet on the dig route, which the safety was going to jump and probably get an interception if Fields threw it, so eating the sack was better than trying to force the ball to Kmet. Nonetheless, DJ Moore was coming wide open for a touchdown on the post route, and a better quarterback would have anticipated it and thrown an easy TD pass to Moore.

At 7:45, they're sending 5 pass rushers against a 5 man protection, which is going to result in pressure almost 100% of the time at the NFL level. The ball has to come out to Roschon Johnson. Fields has to recognize the blitz and get rid of the ball. I don't know if Roschon picks up the first down, but FIelds needs to get rid of the ball and give him a chance.

At 10:35, I agree that sack is 100% on Tevin Jenkins, and there's nothing Fields could have done.

I think a legitimate NFL franchise quarterback would have taken the sack at 10:35 and probably one (maybe 2) of the other 4 because no one is perfect, but taking all 5 sacks in these situations is just unacceptable mediocre QB play.
Two of the throws you criticize Fields for not taking, wouldn’t have converted the 3rd down. Another one, the First one, was at a VERY low that he had to scoop from his lace's, taking his eyes down. The corners bail, but his eyes are not only down, but he had to completely bend over. His eyes were late, because the snap was ridiculously bad. And he tried to step up, to buy time to recover and see what the defense was doing post snap.

Ridiculous.

Will be interesting to see the all-22 cutups. In game they were showing the all-22 on the first 3 sacks or so, and everyone was blanketed. When GB was playing man and sending an extra rusher the Bears had no answer. Don't know if it was Fields or Getsy that couldn't figure it out, but it was ugly on both sides of the ball.

Same old excuses and this is 3 years later. It has already been proven over his career that he holds the ball longer than any other QB in the league.

Why can’t you just accept that he’s not very good? It’s been 3 years of this

Jordan love has less talent around him, had played only 1 year and he lit up the Bears and made Fields QB play look amateur

FYI. Fields and Love play out of the same system too.
You can NOT be comparing what Getsy is calling (complete shite, BTW) to what La Fleur does. It may be from “the same tree,” but whereas La Fleur‘s system is like an Oak, creative and majestic, Getsy’s is more of an invasive shrub.

Getsy was the quarterbacks coach for Aaron Rodgers. doesn't sound like you have to be a complex mental giant to do that job.

Are good QBs allowed to avoid the rush sometimes? Even if the OL is playing like obvious dog shit is it OK for a good QB to sometimes make a play? Or are we only supposed to consider the plays that are perfectly blocked?
If you listen to Corey Wootten, there’s nothing Fields could’ve done differently in this game. He played a perfect game.

Look I’m not absolving the OL or Getsy or the WR’s or anyone else on the team.

What I refuse to do is give Fields a free pass like a large portion of this fan base does. You want to criticize…. Criticize ALL of it. Poles too.
Poles couldn’t even put together his own list of candidates together, let alone pick his own HC.

I feel badly for Poles. It seems like he is the only one that actually is TRYING to build a winner. But he will ultimately be handcuffed by George, and he will ultimately become the sacrificial lamb.

I've also proven that nobody in the NFL runs faster than 10yds per second. Longer when you consider the stuff.
Is math really that hard for you?

The way you who hate all Bears QBs are there's "wahhh, he holds the ball too long" or "waaahhhh, he's a noodle arm". If you had a PFF 2.5 second throwing QB on the Bears you'd still be crying about it. It's mathematically impossible.
