Every Fields sack against Green Bay, for the “geniuses” that are saying that he “held onto the ball to long”

These same people will he saying a decade from now “if only the Bears didn’t ruin Justin”
I couldn't care less. I also couldn't care less if Fields went elsewhere and had some success. I hope he does. But the entire point of this football exercise is to win championships and I'm not banking on Fields for that. Wish I could say otherwise but it is what it is.

For those saying that the Bears have bigger needs than OL in Rd.1, I really think they will evaluate the Penn St OT with MHJ and Nabors if a trade down does happen.

I hope he does too. I actually really like the guy.

It’s his worshiping fan boys that drive me nuts.

It’s time folks. Move on.

Houston Texans say HELLO THERE BOI
So you don’t follow the Texans, then? Coaching overhaul. OLINE OVERHAUL

Only Tunsil was not replaced on the Texans’ OLine. Scruggs, Dieter, Mason and Fant were brought in to upgrade the Texans’ OLine. And they did, markedly.

So many idiots on this message board are so accustomed to bad quarterback play that they zealously defend mediocrity.

Look at these plays.

At 0:39, the corners bail, the linebacker blitzes, and as a result, Kmet is totally uncovered on the out route, just wide the **** open, and Fields doesn't see it. Yeah, Braxton Jones gets bullrushed right into Fields' lap, but if Fields was a good quarterback, he would have recognized the blitz and coverage, and the ball would be out right here.

Fields Packers 1.JPG

At 2:50, it's a 3 step drop and they're sending six pass rushers. The ball has to come out. I don't have the All-22 so I don't know who is or isn't open downfield, but no offensive line in the NFL is going to hold up very long when they send 6, and it's a 3 step drop so this is a play specifically designed to get rid of the ball quickly, but Fields holds it and eats the sack.
Fields Packers 2.JPG

At 4:53, the pocket collapses very quickly with only a 4 man rush, which, yes, is bad OL play, and it looks like Fields' first read was Kmet on the dig route, which the safety was going to jump and probably get an interception if Fields threw it, so eating the sack was better than trying to force the ball to Kmet. Nonetheless, DJ Moore was coming wide open for a touchdown on the post route, and a better quarterback would have anticipated it and thrown an easy TD pass to Moore.
Fields 3.JPG

At 7:45, they're sending 5 pass rushers against a 5 man protection, which is going to result in pressure almost 100% of the time at the NFL level. The ball has to come out to Roschon Johnson. Fields has to recognize the blitz and get rid of the ball. I don't know if Roschon picks up the first down, but FIelds needs to get rid of the ball and give him a chance.
Fields Packers 4.JPG

At 10:35, I agree that sack is 100% on Tevin Jenkins, and there's nothing Fields could have done.

I think a legitimate NFL franchise quarterback would have taken the sack at 10:35 and probably one (maybe 2) of the other 4 because no one is perfect, but taking all 5 sacks in these situations is just unacceptable mediocre QB play.

And you have to have a receiver breaking open in 1.5 seconds.

LaFlueur has checks into blitz beaters worked into his offense. Getsy does not.

I'll give u LaFlueur has much better plays for the blitz (as well as any other situation) but Fields still should not have been sacked as much as he was.

They had massive injuries to start the year that no one here mentions.

I’m not calling Fields “perfect”, never have. But from coaching, and personnel, this team has been an absolute shit show for his entire career as a Bear.

You watched the game, I’m assuming. Tell me what play Fields completely fucked the Bears out of their chance to win. Or drive that Fields completely fucked the Bears out of their chance to win. What mistake or bad read, or series of bad reads, that he shit his pants on, costing the Bears a chance to win?

Thanks for posting this. The potential TD to Moore that he misses is just inexcusable. I mean, we make fun of Jordan Love but on the very 1st third down they had in the game, we send an extra rusher right up the middle and he easily hits Jones for the 1st down. If that was Fields, it's a sack and the same people defending Fields would say he had no time. It's just bullshit excuse after excuse.

the shoopster’s already been saying that for a few weeks now.

Bear fans can blame the players when we kick them outa town, and in many cases its deserved. But we can’t keep ignoring the fact that the Bears are not just burning first round quarterbacks out to the point where they are no longer of any use to the team, but also compromising their future NFL careers. The Bears are ruining careers.

The Bears talk a lot about culture when trying to sell us oddballs like Eberflus and Trestman. Hey, the team’s culture is fine. Always has been. The players are good people and professionals and in general they know how to act. The culture that needs attention is the one that is creating squandered opportunities out of players like Justin Fields, Mitch Trubisky and - God forbid - the next one.

This is no quarterback curse anymore. The Bears have been given their chances, and have another one coming up in the 2024 draft. Their wounds are self-inflicted. Does Pudge Poles have enough stroke (and enough of Kevin Warren’s interest) to change the culture that condones the epic failures? Because that’s the culture that needs work . . .

Jenkins picked a terrible day to forget how to play football. He had 1 sack all year going into today and had at least 2 today where the man in front just straight up beat him. No stunt or tricks just got cucked and fucked.

The first one to Kmet is inexcusable because it is first down so just take the positive yards.

The two 3rd downs I think is more an issue of Fields wanting to throw beyond the 1st down marker rather than not seeing the checkdown.

The Moore one you would love to see him anticipate that.

I’m not rewatching the game tonight. I’ll watch later this week and reply.
