you know what? I'd be fine with that too, I mean teh fact that they'll be over .500 is good, but to have a shot in the playoffs is almost as good as winning the division

I was talking about the 1870 one, we never one a pennant in the 1871-1875 league. The NA from 1871-1875 actually was fully professional, as were a variety of NABBP clubs from 1869-1870.

And I have never found any evidence of an amateur squad going back to 1866, unless you are referring to the Chicago Excelsiors, a separate club.
