I would love to give Josh Gordon a prove it contract! Then CCS can stop crying about losing AJ.

CCS will never stop crying about Jeffery....or Marshall...or Forte....

Value, man. If we get a good WR at #8 that's bad, but if we get an average WR at #39 we'll be going places because it's all about getting the best value not the best players in positions where you have needs. :bowrofl:

The rhetoric may change a bit if he runs closer to 4.3 after having 2 months of track sprinting training. Of course, why take a Chance with Ridley when you can get the next Womack who was the last true guard taken in the top 8 in the last 17 years.

I remember everyone against Jefferieses.
I don't care if we get a GOAT on offense and address the turds on WR.

I think Jordan Mathews will be the best FA available. He had a down year but he's 6'3 220 and runs a 4.3 and has been productive every year but last. He was be a beast across from Cam and then throw in a burner to stretch the field from the slot position. That would would be a solid WR Corp.

I like Matthews as well. Sneaky good in the right system

I will, just replace them. At this point I'm not even asking for better.

Forte was replaced. Receiving Corp will be revamped this off season. I wouldn’t count on getting a better WR than Marshall but the unit will be competent and improved.

Matthews is a lot like Meredith imo. Very similar skill set. He's definitely under the radar right now, has been pretty productive. Solid #2 but not someone who is going to force the defense to change.

Too similar, which is why I don't really want him.

I'm not as impressed with Howard as everyone else. Too many nothing runs with a few breakouts to improve the average. 3&out, 3&out, 6&out, 3&out.
Actually I wasn't that impressed with Forte either but he could catch to make up for it.
I want a 4th&1 RB/online.

Mathews is slow and only plays the slot.

WTF are you even talking about? Who wants an average WR at 39? Who here would think getting a good WR is bad?

Just not the best ... at 8 ... whatever is left at 39 is good enough because they're better than best.

I'd rather have the best oline than the best WR. But the way some are acting is hilarious and delusional. Nobody knows how the WRs will test but we can't draft any at 8 because reasons.

I crunched the numbers and I do not see how the Jags can tag Paul Robinson without detonating their roster now that Bortles 18 million is guaranteed.

Allen Robinson

5 years 70 million/35 guaranteed [0 signing bonus, 35 million in roster bonuses/guaranteed salary]

Year 1: 2 million guaranteed salary/13 million roster bonus [15]

*You have to keep it close to the tag because that is what the Jaguars cannot afford.

*If he is hurt it turns into a 1 year 15 million dollar deal

*All future roster bonuses can become guaranteed if he plays 14 games or has over 1000 yards and over 8 TDs.

Year 2: 3 million guaranteed salary [Feb 10]]/12 million roster bonus [Feb 10] [15]

*If he is healthy and looks good at the end of the season right after the Superbowl another 15 million become guaranteed

Year 3: 9 million salary/5 million roster bonus [March 15] [14]

Year 4: 12 million salary [12]

Year 5: 14 million salary [14]

Even with cutting Hurns and Ivory they will be left with 7 million once you add the tag and the draft class price tag into it.

cutting ivory(4) and hurns(7) will give them 11 mill in space

i go off of spotrac they have 23 mill, add in the 11 to give them 34, 6mill for draft class leaving them 28 mill more than enough to tag.

Over the cap has them at 17.

That would still cut it very close.

for everyone you cut you are creating a roster spot that needs to be filled which will cost cap. And as you see how much bums cost us last off season you will still need cap space to fill those spots
