Over the cap has them at 17.

That would still cut it very close.

I think otc is including the draft class into the available cap space because the difference between spotrac and otc is roughly 6 mill which would be the draft class.

Watkins-Rams can easily afford him.

Robinson-The Jags can tag him, but it is going to have a big impact on their cap.

Landry-should hit the market

Wilson-The Chiefs can clear the space to re-sign him, but they are cutting a bunch of guys.

Richardson-No way they can re-sign him

I'm not as impressed with Howard as everyone else. Too many nothing runs with a few breakouts to improve the average. 3&out, 3&out, 6&out, 3&out.
Actually I wasn't that impressed with Forte either but he could catch to make up for it.
I want a 4th&1 RB/online.

Jordan Howard regularly contended with 9 to 10 men in the box on first and sometimes second downs this year. A lot more goes into the running game than just a good running back.

The other things is that JAX can sign Robinson to a long term deal. It doesn’t have to be a franchise tag.

Given how young he is, it’s probably a safe bet he makes a full recovery from the ACL injury. JAX can structure the deal much like you suggested above with CHI.

I think it's a safe bet that one of Robinson, Hurns, or Lee is free. Possibly two. But I think Robinson is the least likely to be available.

Hurns was not as involved in the offense, but his numbers were good.

I think you should add Hurns into our WR prospects as well as Donte Moncrief.

I paid attention to Hurns when I did Fantasy. He's not bad but not a great one. I'd put him along with Wright and Inman.
The idea of some people is to stock the team with great WRs in FA so they can wait to draft a great one.

Jordan Howard regularly contended with 9 to 10 men in the box on first and sometimes second downs this year. A lot more goes into the running game than just a good running back.

The play calling this year did screw over the whole offense. I even predicted it would shut down the run using it so much (which is pretty much a duh statement but some seemed to think we could RRP forever).
But he's still who he is and that's not someone you go for it on 4th&1 with. A better line could help him bet more positive runs but how much better of a line can we expect for that 4th&1 situation?

If Avril decides to retire I think they just opened some cap to keep him.

They really can't even then as I assume that Sheldon Richardson is a much higher priority and they still do not have a ton of room.

Surprisingly a lot of people..

Find me one person who thinks getting a good WR is bad. Find me one person who wants an average WR. I'll be waiting....

No one does.

Being realistic we are not adding a dominant player to the group in 2018.

I think it is realistic that they add a couple of number 2s and strengthen the unit and try and develop someone more impactful.

I don’t see any world in which Robinson’s works out a long term deal with Jacksonville. They don’t have the space to give him the long term deal he wants, especially considering all the money they have tied up with their defense.

The only way they retain him is by the tag, and even that seems unreasonable. They’d have to blow up their entire offense to keep him, and it just seems stupid to do it imo.

A long term deal would allow them to work around this years cap situation better than the tag.

The tag is what makes it so tight for him. They really can't afford a 16 million dollar cap hit and still be functional in free agency.

so who is your realistic guess? Lee and Wright/Wilson who should all be in that 6-8 mil range

You do realize it is usually cheaper (cap hit) to sign players long term then to tag them, right?

A long term deal at 13 mil per night work better for them than the 16 mil for one year but they still need to work that in.

As I’ve mentioned before in a different thread if you tie up your money with Allen Robinson long term then what do you do when Jalen Ramsey, Myles jack, other players need to be given huge extensions? Yannick ngakoue has a 1 mil cap hit.... the jags don’t need to be a pass heavy team to win. They should have been in the championship all without Robinson, so why restructure your entire offense to fit in a receiver coming off a major injury???

I would expect that they take a run, or check in on Landry, but in the end the market will be too competitive.

I think we will see 2 players in the 5-8 range signed.

If I had to pick names right now, Wilson and Richardson.
